That video appears to be altered per twitter, it doesn't appear anywhere else.
I don't doubt for a minute he's actively involved in this investigation behind the scenes (or at least his handlers are), but I don't think that video is real.

Yes, it seems like a really blatant admission of abuse of power if he said what we hear in the video. I don’t think he’s that stupid to say something like that
