That's a nice letter but I don't know where he thinks he's going to hire j school grads that are pro America. Ivy league schools basically have 0 zero, none, nada, pro American students interested in J school.

He specifically parsed that this is for their Opinion section.
I’m as “report the facts” as anybody, but people should be more aware of the differences between news, op-Ed’s, and the actual editorial column. They have very distinct functions.
ETA: I’m not arguing that WaPo (or any media outlet) has done a good job keeping these things segmented. I’m just pointing out that that’s what Bezos did here.

So, basically Bezos sees that the WSJ is marginally profitable, so he's going to change the direction of Wapo to follow. Probably will have a centrist, soft left/soft right editorial section soon, too.

Then theyre going to need to fire every single contributor they have because all they know how to do is carry water for the DC establishment and brand anyone outside their circle as a conspiracy theorist.
I mean do they even know how to do objective investigative journalism anymore? They might have to get out their old college textbooks for a refresher.

Think you missed where Bezos said this change was to the OPINION pages. Those are supposed to be biased in a direction.
Hard news should be reported in a factual manner.

Hence my ETA, which was up before you posted your reply.

Maybe you missed my next sentence?

If they want to write opinion pieces, they should have enough diversity of thought to offer opinion pieces from multiple points of view.
I address both.

Or maybe you are just missing my point? Even their opinion pieces shouldn't be completely one sided. They should be having opinions from multiple points of view, thus my final comment:

Going from only writing for one point of view and then switching to only writing from another point of view, even if it is one I agree with, isn't really a good thing.

He needs Peter Schiff writing for WAPO.

Those are op-Ed’s and they don’t speak for the paper itself (hard as that is for some people to get their head around).
The Editorial Board, though, speaks with one voice, and that is the official voice of the paper.

Okay? Glad you felt the need to reiterate what is already known.
