my biggest memory of that campaign was him getting his arse absolutely handed to him in the debates and then he had somebody on his staff filming him getting Whataburger in a drive through while he was rocking out. he was so jazzed and thought he had killed it.
the kindest headline the next day was "Cruz won the debate handily, but Beto won our hearts." the rest of the articles from a very liberal media were more along the lines of "O'Rourke, did not have a handle of issues, law, or policy."

The problem with liberal progressives in highly Red states is that their reality is skewed by the echo chamber they reside in.
