Beto O’Rourke says he’s considering running for Texas governor, Abbott responds to potential challenge

Any Texas Baws think he has a chance versus Abbot? I think Texas will actually shift more right under the Biden Admin and the 2022 should be pretty safe

It would be a good way to measure how close Texas is to purple.

Given his records on guns and Texas’ numbers in the last election, good fricking luck. If Abbot doesn’t nail down that Beto tried to bully banks and credit card companies to not only not allow people to buy guns but also directly target people with societal repercussions if they wouldn’t give up their guns gestapo style.... there’s no way in hell Beto can be the Governor there.

Republicans would love that.

Beto has no chance.

True, but Cruz spent nothing and campaigned little.

Did you see the margin by which Abbott crushed his opponent? People like Abbott. A lot. Dont underestimate how disorganized the Dems are here in TX. They’re pitiful.

The dems had a horrid candidate just like beto last time.

They cannot rustle up a remotely normal-sounding candidate even if they tried

They control the voting process. They have been saying Texas is a purple state (not true) for the past 10 years. That has been on purpose to condition the public to accept their eventual plan to flip it so the sheep will be all like “aww shucks thanks California for people and businesses moving to Texas. Drrr”. See Georgia for the playbook.

"Beto" is the biggest airhead in politics. The media desperately wanted him to be the next JFK and he let them down by being the biggest airhead on the debate stage.

Cruz squeaked by him but that was before people knew how stupid "Beto" is and how far left he's travelled.

Abbott will beat him worse than Trump beat Biden in TX.

His best chance was against Cruz. No chance against Abbott.

I think you mean Robert Francis O’Rourke...he’s never been referred to as Beto more than once in his fricking life growing up...but hey, the LULAC cocksuckers in Harris, Travis, Bexar, and Dallas counties can’t wait to be swept up again in his skateboi persona.

I lived in the Austin bubble where he seemed like an obvious win vs Cruz, and I live in the College Station bubble right now where he doesn't have a prayer of ever winning anything ever

I doubt he can get enough mainstream support with the current going-ons to win anything substantial. He went on the record as going "hell yes I will take your guns" which is arguably the most unpopular take you can possibly take in Texas. I honestly think that's what kills his viability as a mainstream candidate. You have to be more subtle than that about your gun control if you're going to win a state like Texas

Minus the election fraud that Democrats clearly are not afraid to commit, I'd think Beano actually has a better chance of being Mayor Buttplug's mistress.

But seeing how the dims successfully (fraudulently) flipped Georgia blue and Texas is where they'll focus all their energy, then yes. I'd say the full weight of vfc the DNXi + fraud + Soros $$$ would = a very plausible Beano win.

As much as I hate to say it because it means the definitive end of conservative America, I hope y'all Texas folks secede from the Union soon, before it's too late. If you don't annex Oklahoma, I'll just move to TX anyway.

I wouldn’t be so sure. Biden said he was gonna get rid of fracking and idiots in TX, PA, and OK still voted for him.

There was very much a sense of "he's not actually THAT extreme and I like a lot of the social things he can give us" attitude in Austin, along with a lot of door-to-door support that Cruz just didn't have

People voted for Beto because he campaigned better, that's really just the beginning and end of it. I wouln't call Beto voters idiots, but just less informed
