re: Ben Shapiro is Not Who Conservatives Need Speaking For Them

I’ve done a dissection of Trump being Conservative or not, and I think he only made 3 out of 10 principles of being a conservative. I think he’s an authoritarian who does what people who are nice to him tell him to do.
I’m out and about to where I don’t have time to go on the rant again, but look at these principles and tell me honestly if Trump himself follows these: LINK
He gets an F on whether he is a conservative or not.

quote:
First, the conservative believes that there exists an enduring moral order.
Second, the conservative adheres to custom, convention, and continuity.
Third, conservatives believe in what may be called the principle of prescription.
Fourth, conservatives are guided by their principle of prudence.
Fifth, conservatives pay attention to the principle of variety.
Sixth, conservatives are chastened by their principle of imperfectability.
Seventh, conservatives are persuaded that freedom and property are closely linked.
Eighth, conservatives uphold voluntary community, quite as they oppose involuntary collectivism.
Ninth, the conservative perceives the need for prudent restraints upon power and upon human passions.
Tenth, the thinking conservative understands that permanence and change must be recognized and reconciled in a vigorous society.
He gets an F on whether he is a conservative or not.

And he will never get it.
That's the same trap that has befallen so many conservatives and republican politicians and what precisely led to the Trump phenomenon.
The only way a republican can get "mainstream acceptance" is to debase himself and become the left's bitch like Joe Scarborough did and I don't see Ben Shapiro doing something like that.

I don’t really think you have any credibility to say what you’re saying given your penchant for celebrity worship
Maher
Conan
Shapiro
Anyone you like, you reeeeeaaally like them. They are an absolute authority as far as you’re concerned. Not shut talking you, not meant to be mean, but you know it’s true

He shouldn’t get mainstream acceptance. He’s a religious radical

Shapiro has been vocal that he desires to be President or a member of the Supreme Court. No chance in hell the later happens, but he’s got a chance at the former.

Milo wants to be leader of trolls and to stay loyal to the Trump movement.
Actually, I listened to the NPR interview with Milo a few months ago where he came across particullarly well, and he says truthfully what he really wants to be: the Right Wing Bill Maher.
I believe this from both of them. I think Ben thinks that God put him on Earth to serve a higher purpose and make the world a much better place than he left it, while Milo wants to take down the media and comedy establishment and show that the Left has not won the Culture War.

Well, people like Nixon, Ford, both Bushes and even Reagan had pushed some form of authoritarian public policy that would violate conservative principles.
Nobody bats a thousand.

Conservatives have been upholding those "principles" and losing out of their asses for a long time dude.
Sometimes you have to fight fire with fire and take the fight to the left.

Don’t recall Shapiro claiming he spoke for conservatives
Sorry if he isn’t a Trump/GOP ball licker 24/7.
This. I actually respect him more because of that. He calls things as he sees them without first filtering them through party affiliation. You may not agree with him on everything, but you know he's not a shill.
People scream they want integrity in the media, then balk when someone gives it to them when they disagree with the take.

Yeah, I like Ben, but he perpetuated the idea that accusations = guilt. We need to find truth in all of this and make a habit of providing proof to back up accusations, especially ones as egregious as the ones involved with Moore.

He’s completely a conservative. He uses sound reasoning. His a more pure version of Bill O’Reilley.
“Leftists tears” is plastered all over the Dailey caller website. He is utterly against the left.

I’ve had a falling out with Maher, but here’s the type of people I admire: people that I think are honest and are champions for free speech. I like Milo as well, so I have admiration for people across the political spectrum. I greatly respect Roger Stone. I may widely disagree with them and even find them dangerous, but I do respect them.
Hell, I find him to be wrong about almost everything, but I respect Bernie Sanders since I think for a politician he is not totally full of shite. If Sanders had run against Trump, I would have voted for Trump and held my nose since I think Bernie is the most dangerous politician outside the Presidency (the Presidency is always this by default and I don’t want Bernie to become that). But I certainly admire him far more than a fake feminist bitch like Hillary Clinton.

Shapiro does exactly what all of us should do. He supports Trump when Trump does the right, conservative thing, and is critical when he doesn't.
Posted on 11/10/17 at 5:45 pm to TigersSEC2010
Shapiro is the worst kinda of nerd fiesta
Posted on 11/10/17 at 5:46 pm to TigersSEC2010
He's pretty consistent with his worldview.

If he's not willing to do what it takes to defeat the left at their own game, he will have no chance of winning.

And this is why I don't like or respect people who seriously think this. There can be only one Jesus Christ.
Take Superman for instance, he is the closest thing ever to Jesus and he is not written that way as he just sees himself as a simple farm boy doing whatever he can to help good people and is seeking no higher accolades and titles for it and protects his anonymity.

No disagreement there, especially Nixon and the Bushes.

Yeah, but I think the strategy should be punching back twice as hard instead of doing what Trump is doing. Like when Democrats go after voter ID laws being racist, your retort should be that you’re the actual racist for thinking Hispanics and Blacks are too stupid to figure out how to get a driver’s license that they need for almost everything in life. That is one of many examples.

I like Shapiro but to me he is just a little bitch. Yes he is as smart as they come but he's just as frail and weak minded as all of the other emotionally compromised voices that make up the current political spectrum.
He claims to be all about logic and reasoning but so many of his arguments are based on emotion. I find it increasingly difficult to really give a shite what anyone has to say these days because it's all a bunch of nothing.
Our political system is just broken beyond repair. I vote but really don't expect anything to ever get better at this point.

instead of doing what Trump is doing. Like
Do you know how Trump won the election?
He didn't do it by framing the electoral argument as liberal vs conservative. I don't think he even said those words more than ten times during the entire 18 month campaign. Ted Cruz or Marco Rubio would've done just that and lose the rust belt by comfortable margins against Hillary.
Trump framed it as something else. Nationalism vs an out of touch political class that wants to sell america down the river.

Conservatives have already been making that argument for a long time and has already had good success with it.
Congrats on being late to the party.

THIS is the most important factor in every social problem we have.
If we try to solve these problems without addressing moral behavior we are only constructing a more fragile structure that cannot stand up to the next onslaught of immorality.
