re: Ben Shapiro is Not Who Conservatives Need Speaking For Them

Do you know how Trump won the election?
Yes, it worked on Hillary Clinton and the fact that Democrats have lost their fricking minds with the PC Culture and bullying, but all the other Republicans tried to play nice guy for the past 30 years to largely terrible effect. Bush lost to Clinton, Jr won based on a technicality, and he played the War card for his re-election. It has been a disaster for the Republican Party, and with the possible exception of Ted Cruz, none of them have used the tactic I am proposing. I think it would be surprisingly effective against the Democrats to say “No I have the moral authority, and you are not only wrong but your own views are detestable”.
Trump wisely kept it centralized to individuals which is how he was able to overcome his subpar views and effectively painted them terribly. It’s the first time a Republican in my lifetime had done that, but I still don’t think that’s the morally right way to go about it.
quote:
Trump framed it as something else. Nationalism vs an out of touch political class that wants to sell america down the river.
I’ve said on here multiple times that I think Trump ran the best campaign of all time, especially given his competition. But if he gets an opponent who is willing to go in his waters but actually make a coherent argument, then he may be in trouble.
quote:
Conservatives have already been making that argument for a long time and has already had good success with it.
Congrats on being late to the party.
Commentators, sure, but point out when Rand Paul (who I like) accused one of his colleagues for being racist once they used it. The Right is far more civil than they should be, something Trump exploited to masterful effect.

So Trumpkins have adopted another practice of the far left and started making up new definitions for old words?

This is the same guy who was Gung Ho for Michelle Fields, even though she was full of sh*t. And he still defended her after it was proven she was full of sh*t. I agree with him with 90% of what he says but he has been wrong before.

Shapiro is principled. He's very consistent. You guys just want to win at all costs.
Yall are approaching the Moore issue from different viewpoints, is all I'm saying.

A generally nice guy and elder statesman like Mitt Romney getting his teeth kicked in from blatant character assassination from Obama and the democrats was a watershed moment in time and led directly to Donald Trump's rise to power.

If there's something that Trump is really effective at, it's branding and crafting an image whether it be for himself or against his opponents and making sure it can't be cut into or the opponents can't break out of it.
Trump's persuasion powers are very, very good.

And they still are today and that's why you see so much pushback from GOP suburbia, college educated whites and members in Congress making up Never Trump.
Democrats have no compunction about being polite and civil when there's an election to win. GOP still hasn't learned yet.

Yep, they may as well have elected Trump with how they treated Mitt Romney. Romney was a very nice guy that the Democrats painted as strapping dogs to his car and a homophobe due to the fact that he beat up a gay kid in 3rd grade. People should have known after Mitt Romney that it would fall on deaf ears due to attacking an objectively good man like him.

I will also say that Trump is the best Brander of all time. Steve Jobs and Walt Disney are the only two even in the conversation with him as far as I am aware.

Agreed, which is why I think the “punching back twice as hard” is a very viable solution. Remain docile and reasonable outside of it, but if they try that bullshite, then you double down on what they said and make them look like morally wrong bullies.

This 100%
I wish he would call out the GOPE more. He was all over Trumps team when this incident occurred. Im not advocating that he defends Trump more I believe he needs to attack the GOP just as much and in some cases even more than what he currently does on Twitter and his podcast.

As outrageous as Milo is, he speaks the truth
Milo is an intellectual light weight. If he wasn't a queer "Conservative" no one would listen to him at all.
The speeches he gives are vapid and annoyingly self promoting. He really brings nothing of value to the debate.

There is nothing conservative about Trump and little about Milo.
Why then did America elect a Republican who is not a conservative and who is also supported by a flaming gay brit?
How the Republicans still don't understand why their own candidate won is truly a head scratcher.

Because the Left and Hillary Clinton really fricking suck. Milo would tell you the exact same thing I’m saying now.

Moore was not Trump's candidate
Posted on 11/11/17 at 6:06 am to Hooligan's Ghost
Why?
Was Trump throwing a bone at the GOPe?
Would Trump change his tune now that his tax reform is being sliced and diced?
Just throwing it out there.

Shapiro is great.
He's very strong at articulating conservative ideas and he's strong at blistering liberal ones.
So what he doesn't agree with me on everything. That's called real life.

I use to think he was a cuck too, but when he called Katy Tur “sir,” I began appreciating him

He is a conservative who speaks his opinions. I don't need to agree with Ben on everything to appreciate his input.
Ben is a great representative of conservative thought and values. It's worrisome when we get into the realm of wanting to oust people because they disagree with us on NON-fundamental issues here and there.

Did Shapiro acknowledge the fact that the McCucks spent $30 million against Roy Moore in the primary because Roy Moore would vote to repeal Obamacare and cut taxes?
Something despite their lying arse rhetoric the McCucks are totally against.
