And he's not even eligible to be governor. All evidence will eventually be produced to show that he's a Florida resident. Utility bills, credit card receipts, etc, etc. But those in power in Alabama will protect him.

The reality is that our systems are such that one person cannot fix them. Whether that’s a flaw or a feature I’m not entirely sure.

I think what the laid out is the most good someone could actually do though

I’m convinced there’s some kind of secret club or system of wealth building that you enter into when elected. You’re informed on how it works and you’re sworn to secrecy. Lobbyists, bribes, insider trading and threats, how you must vote, etc. They are let known, but with plausible deniability, that if you buck the system you will not get help being re-elected and bad things can happen to you and your family.

Then of course there’s the intoxication of power and prestige that comes with the position, as OP suggests.

The Deep State enforces all of this. Schumer: “They’ve got six ways from Sunday to get to you.” It would take a helluva strong person and/or one who is financially untouchable - see DJT - to resist.

I can’t prove any of this, of course, and my description is simplistic, but I believe it. Too many have entered as average middle class and in a couple terms they’re multimillionaires.
