Saw cameras next to a road last week for the first time, and now ive seen a couple memes about them.

Big Brother is watching. Even the cameras at store checkouts know a thing or two about ya.

Flock cameras. We are under a surveillance state

Pattern recognition. One step before minority report

Some of them are traffic cams and you can look at a busy intersection online.

Almost certainly a flock camera that uses ai to read and catalog various identifying features on your car like license plate, bumper stickers, dents etc
Its all stored in a database that is used (so were told) by law enforcement and the city entities who are paying/subscribing to the service.
Problem is there is almost no oversight or real choice in the matter for every day citizens. We just get to be tracked everywhere we go.
Its a slippery slope and not a fun one. Who needs civil liberties anyway.
Biggest concern i have is how much money and growth they have raised in such a short time. Someone really wants this to be happening and its not the people just living their lives.

I’m sure it’s for our own good, right?

They've popped up everywhere but the ghettos

This was my assumption since there are memes. Who started this? Is it a Louisiana thing? Bill gates? Israel? China?

They are all over in Alabama

Its based out of atlanta. And its funded by big venture capitalist firms.
They have raised over 1 billion in funding already.
Basically big corporation types are being given the ability to install these everywhere and collect all of our vehicle movements and identifying markings (for now, they already have face identifying cameras as well) and sell them to entities who pay for the database/service.
Im sure it will only be used wisely and for our good. Nothing to see here!

Nah this ain’t true in Lafayette at least. They are well represented in the ghetto

I wish they would catch the slime that keeps throwing all their trash out their window at the same spot near my neighborhood. Someone will pick it up and a couple of weeks later, same spot has trash again.

Assume you are being recorded everywhere you go outside your house and possibly even inside your house.

If you aren’t doing anything wrong, you shouldn’t be worried . . . .

Next gen mass surveillance systems already being deployed by Leonardo systems are recording and tracking Bluetooth, wifi (MAC and SSID requests) for mobile devices, vehicles, etc...to further tie you and your devices to specific times/locations and association to other people.
