As someone who’s supported Desantis over Trump since the midterms

As time passes, I’m not sure Desantis can beat him. I’m watching clips of Trump’s CPAC speech and he is sharp. His line of saying “they can’t stand that they don’t own me” and “we are never going back to the party of Paul Ryan, Karl Rove, and Jeb Bush” flat out sticks. It’s a good line of reasoning and is going to play well with the majority of Republicans.
We’ll see what happens, but I don’t see him losing to Desantis even though Desantis has a better chance of winning the general.
So what the heck can Trump do to win the general? Are we fricked and stuck with Biden for another 4 years?

Trump cannot win the general. Apart from his base of about 5 million people, everyone else is fed up with his BS. Just look at how every one of his hand-picked candidates went down in flames in the last election while Ron got 59% of the vote.
The primary field will be splintered early on, but then the nobody candidates (Nikki Haley, etc.) will drop out and everyone who actually cares about defeating Brandon will coalesce around Ron.

Stop saying stupid shite, but he’s incapable of doing so. He might can still win acting like a toddler sometimes, but he could make the job of winning a lot easier with just a little bit of moderation.

This is how Trump and any other R candidate for President going forward have to approach elections if they want to win.

If Trump becomes the GOP candidate for the General expect some like Liz Cheney or some other Trump hater to run as an independent for the sole purpose of keeping Trump from winning. All they need to do is take about 5-7 points and the Dems win again.
I'm not saying it's right but there is an element that will do anything to keep Trump for winning

The GOP establishment can’t stand Trump but they’re not going to sabotage him in a general election when so many positions of power are available if he wins.

Trump has always been an excellent slogan generator. The issue has been his execution and insistence that he surround himself with the very people he claims he wants to remove from DC.

At which point it will be too late. The primary will be over before Super Tuesday with a crowded field.

Does 4 years of Biden being awful change things? Look how many votes Obama lost from 2008 to 2012.
That’s the only thing I can hope for, but it’s not a solid bet. Trump got smoked in 2020 with ballot harvesting.

If Trump can't win the general election, it will be because the steal is still on, which means that DeSantis couldn't win the general election either. If Trump runs, I will support him 100%. But if the marxists are still overtly violating the right of the American people to choose their representation, I would much prefer that it is done against Trump a second time, rather than have DeSantis tagged with "failed republican presidential candidate" every time his name is mentioned.
