LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Radio host Arthur William Bell passed away Friday, April 13.

Arthur Bell, also known as Art Bell was the original owner of Pahrump based radio station KNYE 95.1 FM. And perhaps best known for his conspiracy theory in the paranormal, with his radio show "Coast to Coast" - which was syndicated across the nation.

The Nye County Sheriff's Office says Bell died at his home in Pahrump, Nevada.

Bell is scheduled for an autopsy later this week to determine the cause of death.

He was 72-years-old.

Art Bell was a nice guy. He started his radio career at KNOE in Monroe, LA.

He had quite a life. He also had a good deal of tragedy in his family.

R.I.P. Art

Maybe it was JC. Also there was someone taking shots at Art, like real shots, with a gun.

I spent many nights and drove many miles listening to Art Bell. Loved his show. One of the best radio voices of all time.

I did also. Some of the stuff was kind of far out but the talk radio helped me out many long nights. RIP.

Jesse Coulter? Why would she do that?

Seriously though,he always had an interesting program, and made you think.

I think he would be disappointed if we don't start the alien rumors.

As a kid, I spent the night over at my paternal grandparents' house once or twice a week. I was not allowed a TV in the room, but I was able to have a radio. I remember listening to Coast to Coast on weekends and being scared half to death by the crazy shite that came on.

ETA: I assume it was Coast to Coast, because where else am I hearing about David Icke on weekend midnights?

JC used to go after Art on the radio.

Accused Art of worshiping the devil and all sorts of stuff.

~8 minute video of a call from JC

ETA - JC accuses Art of trying to cut brake lines on a car to kill him.

Art got many calls from Arizona. I can remember driving in the Flagstaff and Sedona areas and hearing callers from those areas call in - it was interesting knowing you were probably very close to someone calling in to talk about being abducted by aliens and all sorts of stuff.

Just heard him on the radio about a week ago, obviously a 'best of' or something.

RIP Art.

Pull up some of his coast to coast shows on YouTube. Fantastic radio shows. This is a celebrity death I am legitimately bummed out about.

i used to love listening to him all night long when i used to work the dog shift

help me stay awake and "sometimes" he even made you wonder if the shite he said was true

he often had his thoughts and theories far from the norm and way way out in left field
