They spend next to nothing on their military in most of these countries so this allows them to have massive social programs. It’s not hard to follow the logic.

This is the point. No one is saying that we are writing checks to Britains NHS; we are saying that our military spending relieves them of that necessity, which allows them to buy votes by giving away free shite.

Tucker and Piers are both wrong. NATO didn't cause Russia to invade Ukraine and Ukraine being a NATO member wouldn't have prevented the Russian invasion. This is a war of geography and economics, not politics.

That can't be true.

Know how I know?

Because if it were, then it couldn't be the United State's fault. And if it's not the United State's fault, then it can't be the United State's fault because the Joos made us do it.

And that has to be the conclusion if Huckster Carlson is involved, so...it has to be false.

We are not supporting their social programs DIRECTLY.

But money is fungible. When they don't have to spend money on their military and defense, they can spend it elsewhere, such as overly generous social support systems.

Liberals always want us to be more "like Europe" but Europe isn't Europe with the United States.

Quite honestly, I am tired of subsidizing the world in general... However, frick NATO and especially, frick the UN...

The MIC will not allow us to back out of NATO, otherwise they will lose one of their key money laundering mechanisms...

If we have to get out of an organization it needs to be the UN first. Im not saying we have to stay in nato but the UN is a den of snakes.

I would prefer to not do this crap all over the world. We should not be the planets policemen.

Now that Russia has shown it’s cards regarding their capabilities and the new era of drones, no, we don’t need to provide Europe security. But that’s what we promised to be the world’s reserve currency after WW2.

Perhaps you are wrong.

This is Russia doing what Russia has always done. Expanding their borders to more defensible positions. Nothing more. Did NATO cause Russia to annex Outer Manchuria from China at gunpoint in the 1800s? The Caucasus? A massive chunk of Finland in 1939? The Baltic coast? This is exactly on-brand for Russia and would've happened regardless of us or NATO.

I'm tired of subsidizing anything that does not directly benefit the USA and its tax paying citizens first.

Why was NATO created? Does that threat still remain? If not, NATO's existence is not in anyone's interest.

They’ve provided boots on the ground to augment our forces when needed

Augment? Really, augment? Anything NATO is involved in is in Europe. Why would European troops be augmenting ours instead of our augmenting theirs?

There is absolutely no justification for our continued membership in NATO.

NATO should have immediately been disbanded as soon as the Soviet flag was lowered over Moscow. That was supposed to be its only purpose.

It’s one thing to accept that for what it is, but what I’m really tired of is them looking down on us like they’re fricking better.

By supporting their defense, we are enhancing their efforts to kill themselves.

Had we abandoned them instead, they would be forced to maintain their borders on their own. Now we are essentially paying them to get taken over.

Most of European country’s militaries are a joke. There is maybe France and England. That’s about it.

I don’t know about France, but England’s army and navy are in bad shape. Enlistment is down in the Army, reportedly their numbers are less than during the Naploeanic War, and 2/3 of their Navy is being overhauled or beyond repair. Their shipbuilding is lagging.
