Orange is walking a fine line here. He sounds reasonable, but I'm not sure this is what everybody voted for.

No. I want every single one gone. Along with a total halt to all legal immigration. At such time as they’re all gone we can go about rebuilding a practical and functioning system of immigration

Otherwise, why not allow construction workers stay, then grounds-keeping.

I’m cool with migrants who aren’t criminals getting work visas to work here for a limited time and then going home. I also don’t want these migrants getting welfare benefits.

I understand both sides of the debate however if you were intent or truly ridding the country of illegals, you wouldn’t give them a pass.
Trump admin should’ve instituted a fast track green card program initially instead of “well this hotel and farm will go out of business if they don’t have the help so they can stay”.
That’s picking winners and losers (or lucky or unlucky). How about roofers? How about busboys? You could argue for everyone and for no one.

They should set up some type of monthly pass or daily pass to cross over to work
They could charge heavy for that to the employers. Get them like a sentry type pass.
And for those that are concerned it would be abused then you have never had to go through the sentry vetting process

Give service industry and agricultural workers that are illegal 90 days to register with the govt. They get vetted and if they pass, they are given a special work visa and pay a fine back to the US govt.
Anyone who fails to register after the 90 days is deported with 0 chance of returning to the US.

This is how everyone should view the situation. There may be one or 5 million illegal aliens doing jobs that we want for the benefit of the country to allow in to work. The number is not relevant to the question.
The US gov't has allowed these people in and actually encouraged them to come. The businesses have not been prosecuted when they hired these people. So the govt has been fine with it and condoned it.
Every single illegal immigrant should be deported. Period. Eventually you will get to the point where you start to deport illegals that we will want to replace with a legal immigrant or green card. To not disrupt business you do it a bit at a time. Instead of deporting a thousand from a business all at once you remove some.
The business keeps operating and replaces them with Americans or green card workers. Then you deport some more.
Just put forth and effort to spread the deportation out over time. Not from the country... but from a business.

Why not make them legal by
1) returning, to their home country, the illegals they dragged over the border with them to sign up for free stuff ( Abuela 1, Abuela 2, wife, girlfriend, seven kids, Pawpaw)
2) give them a work visa limiting them to the time that their employer needs them
This isn’t hard.

This is a false choice. Many of them would simply want a work permit. They would come in and work and keep family in Mexico. They can live well in Mexico on the money they make in the US. If they live in the US, they are living somewhere they don’t really want their family to live in.,, can’t afford a house, car, insurance etc.
Not sure why we don’t give many more worker permits and then we can focus on the rest. Also takes many of the arguments by Dems/libs off the table because all they really want is cheap labor.

The daily pass isn’t logistically possible except on border farms and facilities. A lot if not most of these are in the country’s interior. Haven’t there been seasonal migrant farm worker passes for decades?

Yeah, southwest Michigan farms thrive off of illegals. But, I think SDV is saying that they could get summer work card or something.

Which is antithetical to the ideal that "we" want Americans returning to work.

We survived for many years with guest worker visa, allowing anybody who wanted to come work on farms to do it legally. It was a system that benefitted farmers and workers.
I don't understand why the progfilth acts like this never existed, and that we will all starve if we don't allow an invading horde to stay.

Removing them for criminal acts, plus the tax on remittances, and lack of welfare benefits will send many of them packing
