I don’t understand the dramatization that the left is infatuated with.

CHILDREN COULD DIE.

But abortion that does the same thing is A-OK.

Sound logic

Again, deflection. I'm pro life/pro child, and against this policy.

It's not just the scary dems that are opposed to this.

Regardless on any of this, being separated from their parents in this fashion is going to be a very traumatic even for these kids, espcially the really young ones who can't process that they will see their parents again. When you hear "separation anxiety", this is what that refers to: they don't understand that when you leave, you will come back.
Serious question - consider what these children have already experienced:

a)the apparently horrific conditions under which they lived in their homeland;

b)being taken away from their childhood homes and everything they've ever known in their lives, leaving their friends, pets, and other family members, possibly knowing they will never see any of them ever again;

c) embarking on a perilous journey against their desires to a place they've never seen or possibly even heard of, for reasons they can't possibly comprehend, not knowing if they will survive the trip; and

d) being subjected to a weeks-long trudge across hundreds or even thousands of miles of difficult territory, with inadequate shelter, food, water, or clean clothing, preyed upon by all manner of lowlifes who take advantage of their parents' desperation, and frequently herded into cramped and crowded conditions by local militia and LEOs.

Sure, separation anxiety certainly isn't good for them, but how does it compare to the traumas they've already experienced because their parents (or whomever else it was that drug them along) deliberately chose to inflict upon them?

Sorry jack, the OP brought up death, not me. If you think that using dying children as a standard is inappropriate, address your comments to the OP, like I did.

You people are so transparent. You dramatize everything, then when we meet your discussion on the terms you set you act like we are responsible for the drama.

It’s like Trump asserting that Democrats somehow are responsible for his cruel policy.

No, the problem is you. Cut it out.

We have no confidence in the federal government to do anything correctly, yet somehow we expect them to nail this? Seems like a red tape nightmare and I'd wager that a lot of these kids never see their parents again.

shite happens in life sic.

to every single fricking person alive.
life is an a-hole. no one is exempt of that.

everyone has a "traumatic experience", but most of those experiences aren't caused by our parents for knowingly illegally crossing a country's border. actions have consequences.

In a childs world, the absolute worst thing you can do is take them away from mommy and daddy. Again, remember that their brains are still developing and can't process these situations like an adult. Not saying they don't suffer from these other situations, but that safe place is always their parents.

It's why psycologically an abusive parent does more damage than you can outwardly see. Mom and dad are supposed to be that steady force, place of safety, but then they get screamed at, hit, neglected. They are scared of that, but mom and dad are all they know as far as a safe place. That conflict just destroys them and pretty much kills their ability to connect and trust in the future.

This seems like you are advocating that children be kept in physically abusive situations, because they would consider separation from even abusive or negligent parents as more traumatic.

Is that what you are saying here?

It's not that simple, proof.

I really have tried to never bring this up because I know people will just see it as bragging on myself, but my wife and I have adopted 2 children, 1 domestic, the other from China. Sure, they have normal kid issues we have to deal with, but there are trauma triggers that seemingly come out of nowhere that can't be easily fixed or understood. She is raging because I said something that her father might have said to her early on during one of those really dark and hard moments. So you talk about this with other parents who haven't been there, and more often than not, it gets dismissed as "that's just kids", and it's frustrating as hell. This isn't a "you couldn't understand" type of thing, it's just different and really hard, and until you actually live it 24 hours a day and have to help walk these kids to normalcy only to have it undone again by something you didn't see coming, you can't fully understand what it's like. Trauma can even happen in utero. We know a family who adopted a child who was tossed in a trash can after he was born. "Well there's no way he could remember that", but he's like 6 or 7 now and almost daily he rages out of insecurity or a host of other triggers, and you just don't fix it. You ride it out with them.

Everyday.

I'd don't expect them to "nail" shite. I expect them to enforce our border security first and foremost and the rest is secondary.

quote:

Seems like a red tape nightmare

It absolutely is and not one of our own creation, which is why we need to try and establish measures that prevent these people from crossing into our territory and creating this logistical nightmare in the first place. The alternative is just to let them in, which of course is the objective of a very large political faction within and without this country. That is an unacceptable option for the rest of us, thus the migrants and their children will endure discomfort while we attempt to sort out the mess they have created for themselves and us.

The problem starts at the source, and the source is smugglers, migrants, and their enablers in all forms. Our people at the border are put in a difficult spot and if those children are in less than ideal circumstances, it sure isn't the fault of our personnel who are hard at work trying to sort out this logistical fiasco as best they can while prioritizing American security and sovereignty.

Their parents exposed them to coyotes, sex traffickers, drug cartels, etc... on their blissful ride to the border.
