Are Oregon politicians waiting 'til after the election to charge the HERO who saved lives?

He did the right thing obviously and no doubt it was very hard for the Oregon politicians to accept it due to their extreme anti-gun stance.

I’m not sure how many threads we need about the same hypothetical, but any person who charges him or tries to get him in trouble will be chastised relentlessly, and they will end up being dropped.
All of the parents of the living students will come to his defense and that is all he would ever need.
Hopefully, no one is dumb enough to try and charge this hero.

They have gun laws that make it difficult to own/get guns
They dont have draconian laws for crimes committed with guns
They want to punish the guns, not the criminals that use guns
