My tin foil hat theory is that Nike did this to get the LGBT crowd interested in going to see “Air” this weekend because it’s a sports movie but it also is an endearing portrait of Phil Knight.
And for the record I saw Air last week and it’s really good.

guess they think the ads will bring in more new customers than they lose.
Trans people weren't buying Nike or Bud Light because there were no trans people in their advertising? Those are two brands part of giant global companies. Did they really need to take the risk?
Gillette lost something like 7% of their market share in 6 months or so when they released the "toxic masculinity" ad a few years back. Why these big brands feel the need to step out like this is really weird.

Why not just stay neutral on the political position? What's the gain here really for them?
It is a marketing strategy similar to the concept of there is no such thing as bad publicity. It is obviously paying off as this thing has blown up...likely beyond their wildest projections. They are banking that the publicity will generate sales at a higher rate than any sort of boycott backlash from current customers. And they are probably right.

ESG. Should be common knowledge now baw.
I had to sit through an entire esg presentation on my president club trip last August with the company I work for. Never heard the term in my entire life until then.
Main thing I took away was moving to all LED lighting throughout our locations nation wide and piloting our first electric route trucks in the market.

No but everyone I know is tired of hearing about this shite.

And there’s nothing wrong with going to LED bulbs and trying to find places in your business where an electric truck might be beneficial to the company. That’s what’s called the middle ground, where 80% of us live. Unfortunately the other 20% want their way or no way

Have you seen what the democrat party has been doing to dissenters lately?
You might want to put a trans pride flag in front of your house to avoid an IRS audit.

This is such a narrow view …and self-rewarding and insightful.
It’s a very simple question. How many sports bras will be sold to some trannies because of the tranny ad campaigns - not many. How many customers does Nike intend to marginalize - more than the new tranny customers who were gonna buy the shite anyway. Nike did the same shite with Collin Kapernik (sp).
I’m not sure if you’ve ever been to Portland, OR …you wanna talk about shite-hole echo chambers! Literally, shite on the streets with a huge homeless problem.

I agree it’s dumb for a business to do anything other than just do what they do best, but the outrage against this shite also baffles me. They put a tranny on a can. Ok. Don’t make everything super political and your life will be much easier.

But transgenders are mentally deranged fricked up individuals who should be institutionalized for their mental illness.

This isn’t right. How much time does it take to walk a few feet and pick up another brand. Tonight I’ll tell the bartender tin roof instead of ultra. Not much wasted time there.
I’m tired of being treated like I need to be re-educated because I’m a bigot.
Why do I need to put these idiots on a pedestal. I don’t ask anyone for validation, why do I keep getting asked to validate them.
I believe in live and let live, but they won’t leave us and our kids alone.

The ban of ESG ABSOLUTELY MUST be done

Companies will lose access to capital if their ESG scores drop too low. Democrats have finally found a way to force companies to skirt fiduciary duty laws by separating fiduciary duty from access to capital.
