This video was shown to Arbery’s relatives earlier. They weren’t sure it was him despite them being sure the video the day of the shooting is him.

We get to hash our way through the fog 40 times a day until the trial.

Updated the OP. There may be some dispute over whether or not the man in the footage is Arbery.
Glynn County Police Department Incident Report

McMichael stated there have been several Break-ins in the neighborhood and further the suspect was caught on surveillance video. McMichael stated he was in his front yard and saw the suspect from the break-ins "hauling arse" down Satilla Drive toward Burford Drive. McMichael stated he then ran inside his house and called to Travis (McMichael) and said, "Travis the guy is running down the street lets go". McMichael stated he went to his bedroom and grabbed his .357 Magnum and Travis grabbed his shotgun because they "didn't know if the male was armed or not". McMichael stated, "the other night" they saw the same male and he stuck his hand down his pants which lead them to believe the male was armed.

Uh oh.

Not necessairly, was "the other night" one of the filmed dates highlighted in the OP?

They don't have much of a defense, but this isn't necessarily a hit on that part of their testimony.

Well, he fricked up then, shooting the guy he was going to talk to. He won’t get any conversation out of him that way.

With his talking shotgun? Try again.

If Arbery isn’t the guy in the earlier surveillance videos, it’s definitely going to be hammered home by the prosecution.

“You weren’t even chasing the right guy!”

The vid I saw had a dude in a white shirt running at a dude with a shotgun.

I saw a dude try to run away, get cornered by two dudes with shotguns, and then go for the gun when it was his only option.

Second, even if something was stolen, the McMichaels themselves neither witnessed this theft, nor had immediate knowledge of the alleged theft at the time they began to chase and confront AA, so they have no legal right to detain him. McMichael himself says in his statements to the police and the 911 call that that there had been a "rash of break ins (which to our knowledge have not been reported) and that AA was simply a suspicious person. That is not reasonable or probable cause to arrest someone. This is first year criminal procedure stuff.

I understand. But, again, you seem to be making pretty fine distinctions from a legal basis to justify your opinion on the situation from a non-legal basis.

If the deceased had stolen something that night, and the killers had witnessed it, and everything went down exactly the same after that, would your opinion be different?

As dumb as it was to go after the guy should he have assumed Ahmaud was unarmed?

My entire point has been if you go to do something illegal don't be surprised if something illegal happens to you.

I had a lady try to run me off the road a few days ago because my blinker was on....it happens. It was malfunctioning...the switch in the steering column failed and I wasn't aware of it....which would, technically, be against the law, operating a vehicle with defective required equipment. Apparently it really pissed this woman off and she pulled along side me with her window down chewing my arse out and then intentionally tried to drive her car into my truck....would've ended badly for her most likely as she was in a Nissan sedan and I was in a 1 ton pickup at 75 MPH on the interstate. In your world I shouldn't have been surprised by this woman's reaction to my illegal act???

If I am speeding and someone shoots me I shouldn't be surprised? If I jaywalk and someone shoots me, same thing???? What if the parking meter expires? Its illegal....just shoot a motherfricker. Does this extend to the state.....you OK with cops just killing folks for crimes without any due process??? I doubt if most people want to live in that world.....few of us can go through a day without breaking a law of some sort....its been said that the average person in the US commits 3 felonies a day......none of us, in your opinion, should expect not to have crimes committed against us because we have probably committed a crime ourselves at some point...

That is my point. The testimony of Gregory McMichael at the crime scene is he began pursuit based upon the previous videos. Now it appears the person who had previously visited was not the person who died. At least according to Erick Erickson. Will wait and see. The video is honestly of such poor quality it really means little to nothing.

That isn't true. He could have froze or ran away. He was only figuratively cornered. Not literally.

Nah, probably about as dumb to run someone down with a gun in your hands.

I’m not sure that’s as much hyperbole as it appears. The time that we see on video would have been at least the third time they blocked him from running away.
