My 99 year old mother in law had to pay over 10,000 in income taxes just because they saved and were frugal. Totally ridiculous at her age. So sick of paying for others to keep hand out!!!!

How are you going to eliminate $3 trillion with $630 billion?

the top 10% of tax payer pay 90% of taxes. $630B Can replace the taxes levied on the bottom 90%, or under $200k income, as Trump has claimed.

But he promised this on day one. Epic fail - I’m outraged about the 401k I have never paid for and my stocks that I don’t have went down a point. We must impeach!!!!

Did I do it right?

How much monthly does the federal government take in from personal income tax collection? 2.1 trillion per year. Thats 171 billion per month.

We are already right at 10% of that in tariff collections if my math is right.

Wait, your 99 year old mother is still working and is making that kind of money? Or did she pay $10k over her lifetime? What does saving have to do with income taxes?

I’m confused. What am I missing?

Municipal bond interest is not taxable, but his 99-year-old grandmother isn't a municipality issuing bonds.

Are you really shocked to learn that income, even from interest, is taxable? You...the same person who gets on here and calls others dumb.

Three errors in there. The top 10% pay 72% not 90%; the top 10% cutoff is about $193,000 not $200,000; and 28% (100-72) of $3 trillion collected is $840 billion, so it still doesn’t work.

But even accepting your numbers, eliminating the income tax of everyone under $200,000 is not the same as eliminating the taxes of everyone. And I was arguing with a guy who claimed the latter, not with Trump who claims the former.

I don’t know that I’ve done this more than a handful of times in the past decade but I’m flattered that you’re taking notice of my posting habits

I must be the only poster who doesn’t know everything already.

No they’re still bad and won’t work. That part hasn’t changed, no goalpost move.

But ALSO they won’t come anywhere close to replacing income tax.

Yea...why does age matter? If you have income you pay taxes, that is how it works.

Just some weak emotional appeal by brain dead MAGA bros.

That's significant money. I want to see how they're gathering the data though.
