The FBI wanted access to the actual phone in San Bernardino that is different from an iCloud account. They want access to Stones iCloud not his phone this is not the same thing.

Not quite. Mueller got access to Stone's iCloud AND his devices.

While not the exact same thing as the San Bernardino orange, it is not quite the innocent little apple you guys are trying to portray.

Apple was just following orders. Mueller is still giving Goebbels a run for his money. That phaggot has yet to issue any warrants for Podesta who committed the same crimes as Manafort, or Clapper, Brennan, Clinton, McCabe, or Strozk who all committed the same crimes that Stone is charged with.

Has Apple agreed to create new software to backdoor into their IOS to break his passcode on his phone?

This is no different than Yahoo, Google, or any other database administrator being subpoenaed to provide data.

It would be huge news if Apple were breaking encryption given Tim Cook's very public position that data privacy is sacrosanct. This is just another stupid gatewaypundit stupid story for the stupid.

Exactly... But again, the pure hate for anything non pro-Trump for certain people completely destroys any objectivity they may had. But I don’t think they had much anyways.

Reading through the privacy statement from Apple and it's cloud, they can, if asked by authorities, give out personal information. It does not state any where that it is their policy to allow full access to ones account. I am trying to be objective through my hate......

It says devices the article never says apple unlocked Stone’s iPhone for the FBI. There is a softener between turning over iCloud info and unlocking a phone.

The issue was different with bernardi. That was his iPhone which theoretically could have led to other iPhones being de-encrypted.

There is a huge difference in what happened

the company has given the office of the Special Counsel complete access to Trump advisor Roger Stone’s iCloud account, reports Apple Insider.
Not remotely believable on its surface.

Cook and Apple make a distinction between their handling of private data vs Google and Facebook's handling of data. It is, and has been, a major AAPL focus. Giving up the Stone or Manafort accounts, as GP asserts, would undermine Apple; and it would undermine Apple stock.

Big money would be involved. That bit of AAPL news would run lede on every financial publication and network headline out there. Instead, it seems GP has an "exclusive". You be your own judge of GP's legitimacy here.

If Mueller has access to Stone's iCloud account, it's because either (a) Stone gave it to him, or (b) Stone was careless about password security. Ironically, considering AAPL's stringent password requirements, many folks write their password down somewhere to remember it. The account is only as secure as that password's accessibility.

I get the distinction. I'm not sure the safety deposit box analogy applies (completely anyway--but i get it). Although I'm sure, as usual, the terms and conditions allow them to do whatever they want with cloud-stored information.

i admit i didn't fully read the latest article--you'd think apple would at least ask the gov to issue a subpoena. That's what the banks i've repped always did (unless it was a garnishment, then it's a summons).

This is sticky.

I can't expect an online service to protect me from an investigation unless it specifically says that its an encryption service.

I have all my icloud turned off for this reason.

I sure as hell know Google is serving them all the info they want on a silver platter, so anyone saying "Android is the way to go" knows little about the practices of these companies.

When Apple cracks the devices themselves (which I feel are more intrusive) then shite will hit the fan.

But praise be to our Silicon Valley overlords, because being critical of big business is a sin and you can just go create your own multi billion dollar tech company if you don’t like it.

Wonder what their great defender, Rush Limbaugh, will have to say about this. J/K, he won't say anything.
