Anyone think taking out Saddam wasn't the best Idea?

The Guy was a Tyrant but ever since he was taken out shits been real bad over there. At least he kept most these Assholes in line.

The alternative to secular dictators in that part of the world is worse. The only thing keeping ethnic and religious tension from boiling over in many of these countries is a strongman.

It was a horrific idea. And conflating Saddam with the atrocities of 9/11 was flawed from the get-go, and W. knew it.

Taking out Hussein was always a huge mistake.
H.W. put him back in his lane after the attacks on SA and Kuwait. Hussein got the point. He stayed in his lane.
W. was misled by his "intelligence". He made a mistake listening to them. I'm not taking up for him at all, because it was still his call and he was responsible.
Saddam was a madman and a ruthless tyrant, but he was immensely powerful and feared, and he stabilized the entire region. Just look at the entire ME without him...

My stepdad has been saying this for 10 years. Saddam was a horrific tyrant but he kept the other goat frickers in check.
