Why not? Seems like an EV would be the perfect vehicle for everyday commuting. Again, I would have the Xterra for longer trips.
This is the correct way to EV. Do your most in city driving with it and use ICE for long travels.

Depends on the distance of the commute. Those of us who drive over 2 hours each way are better served with a gasoline engine

I am commuting an 1.5 hours both ways. I never charge my tesla above 80% and I make it home with over 30% battery everyday. A Tesla is perfectly capable of that trip.
10/10 times I would rather have a tesla for the trip you are describing. It's like having a butler handle all of the micro decisions of driving. Especially in bumper to bumper interstate bottlenecks. It is absolutely a dream.

EVs in general are just not ready.

anyone thinking of buying a Tesla should do a little research and google "Tesla reliability"

I'd buy one for around town driving if they weren't so expensive.
Just got a 2022 model 3 with self driving feature for 24k. They aren’t expensive.

Great point. I live 15 miles from work, and live in one of the cheapest areas for electricity in the US. I have charging stations about 200 yards from my building at work, as well. Seriously considering getting an EV just for my daily commuter. Looking through FB Marketplace, I could get a relatively new Tesla, or 4 Nissan Leafs for about the same price.

The tesla computer shows you where the nearest available charging station is and they have way more of them than most EVs, which is why they were so popular with young lib professionals until they decided to turn on Musk for political reasons

I like Musk but still hate everything about EVs except their fast acceleration. I now own five vehicles - all full sized ICE trucks and SUVs built in the US. I might consider an EV once they have close to 500 miles of range and you can charge them in 15 minutes.

When they're as cheap to buy and operate as a used car, sure, why not?

Almost wish they had come up to you so you could hand out an arse whoopin. Teach those scum a lesson.

No offense but I am in energy, I will always have a truck. I hope people support him but an EV is not for me.
