Exactly. If Trump is innocent, then what do they have to fear? The evidence would have to be overwhelming to conclude that Trump was colluding with the Russians. I don't think that's the case or some private investigator hired by a third party would have already found it.

Let's be honest. Go back 1.5 years. Trump had no chance of winning (by his own admission). He had already run for president solely to build his brand twice already. There were talks of a new news channel. His business is essentially perception, marketing and constantly being in the headlines...
Do you really think candidate Trump would turn down an opportunity to poke the establishment in the eye? Do you really think he would have paused to think "gee what if I actually win?" Do you really think he would consider the implications of coordinating his campaign with say.....a Wikileaks releases?
