Guy reads vanity fair articles written by delusional hipster progressives about how the president is unstable and talks about reading things that feed a world view and obsessing.

Well I don't know the particulars of our poliboard friends' finances, but they are an insular bunch. FYI I still belong to DIA, but I've been detailed to the Joint Staff for a while. I know a few officers who seem to like the President ok, but most don't, which is odd for a Republican president. I can't think of any civilian govies (who've expressed any opinion) who don't have a pretty negative view. But I guess people don't like being told that they’re crooked, wretched swamp-dwellers by an unethical fat arse who spent his life screwing people over. I know quite a few in DoD, Agency, State, DHS, and a few who work CT or CI at the bureau.

I'm going to an 'FBI" Christmas party this evening. Most of rank and file are on the right and trump voters. They seem as upset as the rest of us but have a job to do.

SO's brother is an FBI agent stationed in Thailand. Like another poster said, he infrequently comes home. My sister's husband is in Kurdistan. On paper he works for a private company but he's a spook of some kind. I don't talk politics with either on the rare occasions I see them. I dont know what their views are. Arguing about politics is considered unrefined in my family.

Not FBI or CIA, but I used to date a girl that was ATF and she was as conservative as they come. She hated the Clintons. I haven't spoken to her since we drifted apart when she was transferred to Seattle, but I would guess she is MAGA.

Ya'll need to focus on your jobs as servants of the American people and forget about politics. Remember that it's unnecessary to be both great at your jobs and figure out how to best run the country -- both at the same time.
So just focus on being good public servants and don't forget that ya'll aren't that important in the big scheme of things. So just be great at your job as a public servant. That's the most noble and honorable thing you can do.
Don't undermine the country because you hate Trump. That's dishonorable.
