Shouldn't this thread title be "Joe the Plumber responds to Antigun crowd?"

Your Question

So where'd you publish your "open letter"?

Yet you say

The point lies in my original question in this thread

You are way smarter than me then.

Emotion over logic, it is the age of reason.

Yes, I think any normal human that has any empathy would at least give the poor guy a couple of weeks and definitely would not write a freaking open letter directly to the parents saying "Your dead kids don't trump my rights". You know, the whole "don't write something you wouldn't say to someone's face" etiquette.

Regardless of your second amendments leanings (and, for the record, I support it) I can't believe people actually think Joe did the right thing here.

No, but this isn't the best way to word it

quote:

As harsh as this sounds — your dead kids don't trump my Constitutional rights

I agree with the message, not the delivery (especially the delivery to grieving parents).

I couldn't fathom what it's like to lose a child and, in this instance, the victims' families have the upper hand. To respond in this fashion does nothing to help the pro second amendment crowd.

Joe the Plumber is correct. The reason the liberals have made so much headway in fricking up this country is because conservatives have tried to be PC and tiptoe around sensitive issues. The only way to stop the left from pulling us over the cliff edge is to speak loudly, harshly and truthful in unison.

Seriously, their kids were killed by a deranged loser. It sucks and I'm sorry for their loss, but stay the frick out of my life, rights and liberty. Maybe if one of his victims had a gun handy the whole event could have been stopped.

He don't have to keep his mouth shut, mr liberal dumbazz, he's an American, and it isn't like libs don't attack conservatives anyway ( see commencement speeches)

The parent blamed the NRA and politicians, and he is FOS.

I wouldn't call the person out myself if his kid died, but if you want to but out bogus BS then you shouldn't expect to be given a pass by everybody.

I am all for Joe the Plumber being the mouthpiece of the gun lobby. Hopefully he gets hired and can give the left more ammo, no pun intended.

Glad to know how clear thinking you will be when your kid dies.
You are clearly a stronger human than almost anyone I know.
While 99.99% of the human population is in shock after the death of a child you are a rarity.

F@ck giving people space to grieve and say stupid sh!t if need be. Lets all say f@ck em and their political agenda

I have for fleeting moments thought about what I would do if something happened to my kids. Forget evil being visited on them by another human being; at least I know what I would try to do.

I know the reaction (this is accidental mind you) would be irrational, self-fish, and quick. Also, my life would be meaningless.

I have the sick luxury of typing this, and there are those that have suffered this. Excuse them while they grieve and lash out in view of quite easily a situation worse than death itself

If a loved one of yours is killed by a drunk driver, something tells me you're going to be in favor of really draconian DWI laws.

Except in this case it wouldn't only be DWI laws, it would also lay blame at automobile manufactures and the UAW. Something tells me there is a logical line there. You might want to find it yourself.
