While I think increased gun laws are absurd because they don't even enforce current laws, I think it was stupid for Joe to say what he said.
Insensitive comments don't help his argument.

Couldn't just say this to the parents of the shooting victims?!? JTP is a D-Bag!

Dear Joe The Dumbass,
Your 15 minutes of fame is up.
PS - You are now stooping to the same level of those you oppose.

If all of the gun control people would just open their minds and get out there and just shoot a few guns, this wouldn't be near as much of a problem for our country. It would help to dispel their issues... sort of take away the 'forbidden fruit' element they make guns out to be in their heads. It's ignorance and emotion that they're using to fuel their arguments mostly. People on both sides of the political spectrum have been and will always never be perfect... but, guns are one of the things which the left will be on the wrong side of history. Ignorance breeds ignorance, and ignorance + fear is their motivator. I mean, do these people wear seat belts? Do they have life insurance policies? Same damn thing. Something that's hopefully never necessary but serves a very important purpose.
Until human beings are civil (never), the tool we call guns will always be a necessary thing.
Sorry to not comment on topic.. been wanting to vent, but not to just start a thread about it.

Wake up, it's not just the left that deals in fear-mongering.

Did I imply that? I was referring to ignorance about firearms.

To whom does your personal possessive pronoun, "their" refer?
ETA: Sorry if I misunderstood.

Let me try that again, since it's the typical function of the political board to try to find ANY way to discredit someone's comments even when it has nothing to do with the topic at hand. (not that my topic is the OP topic, to which I apologized for circumventing just to express my thoughts on it)
To be clear, I -was- accusing the left of being ignorant about guns. And due to their ignorance about guns and lack of exposure to them they have fear about them, and they use fear as their motivator for making comments and being emotionally driven to lobby against guns. However, even though it is irrelevant to my post's concerns... I was never excusing the right from doing the same thing on other debatable political topics. Human beings are human beings.
I think it would be healthy for the 2nd amendment, which I believe in, for the left to stop being over-run by their emotions about firearms.
*edit*
No prob!

People that lean right probably have more fear to dispel of their own if you consider that faith based religions are all filled by people that have knowingly or unknowingly played a part in Pascal's wager. (fear is the root of faith in a God/god imho)... which is TOTALLY irrelevant to the OP. SORRY OP! :P

I got ya.
I will agree with you that the left uses fear in their attacks on our 2nd Amendment rights just as the right used fear in their attacks on our 4th Amendment rights.
That's how I see it anyway.
