This Christian college is booming as campus enrollment has more than tripled in the last decade
In 2012, GCU had around 7,000 students on campus, but this year it's over 25,000

A conservative, Christian college has tripled its enrollment in the last decade by establishing a "new model for higher education" that makes college affordable to all socioeconomic classes, the university president told Fox News.

"When families hear that there's an affordable private Christian university in Phoenix, Arizona, it's very attractive to come and visit," Grand Canyon University president Brian Mueller said. "Core competency, we think, is to understand where the economy is going, where the jobs are going to be, how people can build great careers and how they can do it without taking on large amounts of debt."

I had not heard of this university before, but it's worth adding to that ever-growing list of conservative colleges worth looking at if you're trying to avoid the woke majority.

The caveat is that both parents and prospective students need to stay vigilant; just because a university claims it is Christian doesn't mean there aren't 'issues' on campus that may go counter the 'conservative' label.

Is it accredited?

Where are its academics ranked?

What are their admissions data (quality of students)?

It's a solid school. I mean, it's not Harvard or any other Ivy but it serves it purpose and about half the cost of its competitors. Why pay $250k for a college degree when you don't have to?

I've seen commercials for them, but seemed more like a heavy on-line college. I even think they do pretty good in a sport like baseball or basketball.

Good to know more about them and hope they find a way to squash the infiltration of evil that seems to be like locust destroying all things it hates. Ie...really would be nice if private non-govt institutions/companies could decide for themselves to ban gay mafia orgs on campus as it doesn't fit their beliefs. Unfortunately I think a Jewish scholl in NY lost this kind of battle

As to being vigilant...no doubt... parents need to really study the beliefs of the school leadership to make sure they know where things will go, as things change negatively for sure.

Good it's in a pretty cool city/area like PHX. Maybe now that they are larger they can try to span out into getting a good law/medical school, as we need to start finding good conservative post-grad schools too.

Last I heard it was the only for profit school in D1. Not sure if that is still the case.

There is absolutely nothing "prestigious" about an Ivy league education other than the societal stigma. You get indoctrinated and you get a useless degree a lot of the time at those universities. They churn out stupid smart people and we still go around claiming that an Ivy league education means something.

frick those places.

Who cares. There are people who want to trust their kids get a solid education and not come back home purple haired freaks and a different sex.

At this point schools you believe to be great have major reputation issues. Heck even your Stanford has taken a hit. You may not care and in the liberal world it may still be respected, but losing respect from a whole political arm of this nation isn't something to hang your hat on. Heck I use to respect the school on a resume, but now I couldn't care less about it being on there. It's an indicator that I will need to vett differently to make sure the person isn't toxic.

I have a T-shirt from Wyoming Catholic College that says, "The only college in America where cellphones are not allowed in class, but guns are."

If they don't mind the cold, it would be a great place to send your child.

Those things mean nothing. So long as it's a "christian" school they can teach flat earth idiocy.

The prestigious schools are failing. We just don’t know it yet. A friend of my daughter is in Wash U Med school and he said a large portion of his class failed their Step 1 practice exams. He felt they were spending far more time on equity and diversity training and not enough on actual medicine. This school is generally regarded as a top medical school.

We will see the fallout for decades for this nonsense.

It is going to be interesting to see how much hiring from these private Christian universities like this that major woke corporations will do or are they going to see where they got their degree from & toss the resume/application. This is where we are as a country now.

There already is a worrying shortage of qualified doctors, especially internists. Have you noticed how much longer it takes to get an appointment?!?! And it's virtually impossible to get in as a new patient.

I'm just waiting for them to eliminate the MCATs just like they're eliminating the LSATs. The days of the witchdoctors can't be far behind.

Well, the school you are promoting here eliminates the testing requirements for MBAs. Guess they aren't much better.

And ftr, I don't think the gmat is in the same ballpark as the lsat or the mcat but a pattern is a pattern...

Many of the for-profits either have gone out of business or have become legit private or non-profit institutions. Grand Canyon is one that has gone legit as a private. They're megabooming right now and their athletics have become the real deal like Liberty's.
