Insurance went up another 20% this year. Is it even worth shopping or do I just buy the lube again? Curious how much other people’s rates have gone.

If mine goes up another 20% I will be screwed. It was a small amount a few years ago and now is well over 10k. Its insanity

There’s a consumer-friendly way to greatly reduce this but neither the insurance companies nor the lawyers who file suit against them will like it. Companies need to simplify the claims filing process and the state needs some updates to the law to attract more companies.

About to just say eff it, cash out retirement before that disappears, pay house off and self insure

The government always seems to give free money to those without insurance anyways when disaster strikes so whats the point of insurance?

What complications of the claims filing process can be simplified that would reduce overall claim payouts? Surely you aren’t suggesting premiums are high because of the overhead costs of staffing a claims department? Premiums are high because claim payouts are high.

My La. car insurance went up 30% and I've only made one claim in 50 years (a large deer hit me 10 years ago).

I think there’d be fewer lawsuits if there was a better process to negotiate differences. The process is bloated and strings you out making it easier to miss deadlines. You’re left with nothing else to do but sue or just accept the screw job.

I just looked at my home owners insurance year by year and it was nearly doubled since 2019.

I dropped my flood insurance this year as did several family members and coworkers. We are all in a non flood zone and did not experience any flooding in August 2016. We are tired of paying $700 a year to subsidize those who choose to live on the coast and in swampland.

Try commercial property wind, fire, hail insurance.
It's going to drive rents through the roof.
Not including flood or general liability.

To answer your question another way...they're not suggesting reduction of claim payouts, more like reduction of legal/operating expenses

Jeff Landry initially was going to do a third special session, specifically on insurance.

Guess the insurance lobbyists gave too much to his campaign.

There should be no state boundaries to protect the insurance companies.

We should be able to buy insurance from any company licensed in any state of the country.

Lynch Tim Temple and for fun Jim Donelson? We could get a whole bunch of People together travel up to Minnesota and go all Haitian on the CEO of State Farm for starters.
