I call bull shut on this.
AB has not come out and admitted they should not have entered the culture wars.
AB is still paying the awful woman responsible for making the decision to make a man pretending to be a teenage girl the face of Bud Light.
There is no “sense of urgency”.
The CEO of Inbev has twice stated that the former bud light drinkers were just too dumb to understand the non marketing marketing campaign.
The ship of brand recovery has sailed.

And they are too stupid to realize that the leftists weren't the ones buying their beer.
It's not that. They don't want the inevitable outrage from the media/leftist that they know would ensue.
They also know they have severely pissed off their core customer base. But they are hoping by spending a shite ton on marketing this summer the "boycott" will eventually fizzle out and the media will will help them get back those sales because BL was "brave" enough to do something the fit within the preferred media/leftist agenda.
It is a calculated gamble that the resolve of the boycotters will wain and that the pain of a few bad months will outweigh having to deal with the Gestapo tactics of the Leftist Outrage Bureau.

That’s a bold plan, Cotton. Let’s see if it pays off.

If I am Yeungling I am going balls to the wall with a marketing blitz because there may NEVER be a better opportunity to gain more market share than right now. Especially knowing that in about 3 weeks Miller/Coors is going to reflexively pander for "Pride Month" and, thus, destroy much of the windfall they have been gifted.
Yeungling doesn't have to come out with some tacitly anti-gay marketing. They just have to put out non-controversial marketing that implies the message that they don't give a shite about your social ideals...they just want you to drink their beer

America’s oldest brewery enough said. Just stick to backing the red white and blue and making good beer that’s all they need to do.

BL is about to spend more money on marketing this summer than they ever have. Every concert, BBQ competition, beach party, etc is going to be sponsored by BL and BL is going to be the exclusive beer vendor. Basically, they are going to try to hold consumers at gunpoint to say you either drink BL or nothing at all with the hope that if they force people to drink BL they will get over the boycott.
You're already seeing the increased marketing at ridiculously obvious levels. Here in BR, Matt Moscona's sports talk show now opens by "popping a top of BL" before every show. "Hey. See how cool we are! Sports fans drink BL!!" It's laughably pathetic

It’ll be interesting to see how much this costs them, then.
There will be a ton of BL that won’t sell, which they will have to eat. There will be massive promotional costs which MIGHT raise their gross sales closer to what they used to be. And their competition will make up market share while they are doing this.
This is the equivalent of bleeding out rather than going to the hospital to get patched up.

There's a good chance they could have rectified this whole thing at the cost of basically nothing. Instead they will choose to bleed money out the wazoo in some weird last ditch hail mary effort to do so.
Welcome to "free market capitalism" in the 21st century.

Decatur said the shareholders demanded this!

Sorry Bud Light. Let your demise be a lesson for all others.

That comment isn’t from BL its from an industry expert saying what he thinks they need to do.

I hope that Beligian company tanks, and serves as a warning to foreigner investors that we DO NOT want to be like Europe

Or, don't hire someone solely for the sake of "diversity". Someone who, while she has the academic bona fides, knows absolutely jack shite about your customer base and worse, thinks your customer base...that has made you the highest selling beer in the country for decades...is beneath her and her social group.
It would be like Ford hiring a 30 year old woman who grew up in the upper west side of Manhattan and got a Ph.d from Yale to be the head of marking for the F-150 who thought it was a good idea to run a marketing campaign to target women and transgenders because blue collar men and outdoorsmen were "beneath" the desired customer profile for the F-150.
Bud Light was sailing along in calm, wide open seas. But they decided to let an idiot drive the boat. Which she promptly turned and steered directly into an ice berg 99% of other people would have missed by 50 miles. She then came out and blamed the ice berg for being in the way, while the Capitan and his staff are now desperately trying to scoop buckets of water out the boat to keep it afloat.

Wrong. They need to expand to more states so we can all enjoy and support this brand.

only a mock up unfortunately but maybe their marketing crew will see it and make something like it happen

They need to be liquidated entirely. End the whole company.
InBev has one move that I can see. Sell AB at a loss and let the new owners try to walk this back. But the financing may be a problem.
