Don't want to work all day in the hot sun? Don't commit a crime.

When prisoners are forced to work on the Farm Line, they are rarely given breaks or drinking water
If this was true you would have people literally dying out there. And not just one person, multiple people (especially last year). Has anyone heard of a large amount of people dying of heat stroke last year? No?

When drinking water is provided – and often it’s not – “it is dirty and full of insects
This is also bullshite. Prisoners are assigned to water duty and are responsible for getting/filling water. They are the same ones that drink it. Do you think they are just filling their own water up and making it “dirty and full of insects”?

Work early morning and near sunset. A few less hours. Solved.

Just googling Angola prison deaths brought up this article which claims more than 500 people died in LA prisons between 2018-2022.

Egregious’: Louisiana prisons have experienced 50% spike in deaths, report says

This article is about the overall inadequate healthcare, not specific to only heat related deaths.

You think the criminals at Angola were wrongfully convicted? Bless your heart.

Some of them? Absolutely. Especially people convicted by non-unanimous juries.

They get paid .06 per hour. Used t be 4. Gave them a cost of living adjustment a few years ago. More than most of those POS deserve.

88 degrees? I remember working in hot fields back when I was in high school. 88 degrees was just an average day.

The water claim made me go from somewhat sympathetic to dismissing the whole thing. I don't blame them for not wanting to be out in a field from 12 to 4 though.

I imagine your definition of a violent crime and mine are different.
