Highlights of McCabe's Response:
For the last year and a half, my family and I have been the targets of an unrelenting assault on our reputation and my service to this country. Articles too numerous to count have leveled every sort of false, defamatory and degrading allegation against us.
The investigation by the Justice Department’s Office of Inspector General (OIG) has to be understood in the context of the attacks on my credibility. The investigation flows from my attempt to explain the FBI’s involvement and my supervision of investigations involving Hillary Clinton. I was being portrayed in the media over and over as a political partisan, accused of closing down investigations under political pressure. The FBI was portrayed as caving under that pressure, and making decisions for political rather than law enforcement purposes. Nothing was further from the truth.
I answered questions truthfully and as accurately as I could amidst the chaos that surrounded me. And when I thought my answers were misunderstood, I contacted investigators to correct them.
This attack on my credibility is one part of a larger effort not just to slander me personally, but to taint the FBI, law enforcement, and intelligence professionals more generally. It is part of this Administration’s ongoing war on the FBI and the efforts of the Special Counsel investigation, which continue to this day. Their persistence in this campaign only highlights the importance of the Special Counsel’s work.
I have always prided myself on serving my country with distinction and integrity, and I always encouraged those around me to do the same. Just ask them. To have my career end in this way, and to be accused of lacking candor when at worst I was distracted in the midst of chaotic events, is incredibly disappointing and unfair.

The accuracy of his statements were directly related to the level of chaos surrounding him. What chaos? Letting HRC go free when she was one of the guiltiest people in the US? Her crimes were blatantly obvious to any jury.
Poor McCabe is complaining that his credibility has been under attack. It's ok for the democrats to falsify information so McCabe and his people can spy on Trump so they can get a Special Counsel to try to frame Trump, but we can't question McCabe's integrity. His statement is appalling considering what he has done.
Now he knows how Trump and Trump's family feels. Apparently, it's ok for McCabe to support a fraudulent Special Counsel who used a falsified dossier to undermine the legitimacy of Trump's presidency, but he is not supposed to be fired for lying to the OIG and leaking classified information.
I hope more roaches are exterminated, and soon.

His statement should be : Thanks to everybody, that didn't put me in front of a firing squad, since I abused my power, and the trust placed upon me.

McCabe has supposedly said, "If I go down, then I'm taking everybody with me."
Could these be famous last words?
Now we must wait for the list of crimes he will be charged with.

Stopped reading right there.

Just sounds like the childish hysteria we have been subjected to for a year and a half.

He could've done this SO much classier, instead he chooses the "it came down to us vs them, I was just a victim of being on the wrong side" BS approach. He could've apologized to his fellow citizens, government employees, or coworkers at the FBI for further sullying their reputation and dragging the institution through the mud - even IF he's choosing to deny the allegations against him - but he chose not to do that.

To me this speaks more to his character than his previous actions, which have all been more or less proven at this point. He bought himself no leeway whatsoever with the OIG or any future investigations and chose to further drive the wedge into the political landscape on his way out the door, which is puzzling for a man in his precarious position.

He's fully embracing the 'martyr for the cause' role that the MSM will crown him with due to sour grapes from getting his arse caught red handed. He's taking the low road and choosing publicity over humility, not man enough to even begin to admit fault. This isn't a man that made a little mistake and suffered massive consequences, this is a man that made massive mistakes and suffered relatively little consequences thus far.

No one should feel bad for him when he's knowingly broken major laws and used his position as one of the top brass at the FBI for ideological and personal gain, resulting in ONLY losing his tax payer-supplied pension worth more than the average employee's salary. Even so, his crying on the public's shoulder WILL WORK and you'll have the MSM and a certain demographic glaring at Trump thinking "how COULD you!" while wiping McCabe's snot off their sleeves and patting him on the back.

I hope they squeeze his balls (if they can find them) until he spills his guts (if he has any) on all of the conspirators in the Deep State. I'd really like to see this rebound to BHO and HRC.

Drain that disease ridden swamp;.

You mean he wasnt sitting beside a paned window periodically staring off into the overcast Washington sky while reflecting upon a career of honor.....with a fire crackling in the fireplace behind him.....while Samuel Barber's Adaigo for Strings played quietly in the background?

You are trying to tell me that this was not an emotionally driven and spontaneous response to a tragic event and that someone else wrote this well before the event occured? I will just have to wait for the MSM to report before I go all in on your unlikely theory.

I'm guilty of not keeping up with this McCabe "scandal".

What crime or ethical misdoing do we believe McCabe did? How do we know he did what he's accused of doing? How do we know McCabe's statement is not accurate?
