..careless people or bad government.

Nope, capitalism and racism.

The Guardian…enter at your own risk

quote:

“The rise of plantation capital spawned the drying of the west side of Maui,” said Kamana Beamer, a historian and a former member of the Hawaii commission on water resource management, which is charged with protecting and regulating water resources. “You can see the link between extractive, unfettered capitalism at the expense of our natural resources and the ecosystem.”

Right. On. Cue.

It might have been caused by capitalism.

And now I suspect that these fires were caused by climate terrorists.

Those fires were caused by government incompetence and stupid policies at the service of "climate change."

I do find it "interesting" that Oprah Winfrey, Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg, and Bill Gates all have mansions on Maui and I have yet to here a peep from any of them about charitable donations or benefits to aid the victims. There are a lot of p.r. people who aren't doing their jobs.

So, it's racism that created and a windward a leeward side of islands that have been around for thousands of years, if not much longer.

Got it.

When will the green side of the Sierra mountains in California be blamed for the desert side in Nevada?

interestingly Uber has asked for donations for the maui fires

from uber website...

Humanitarian aid: Uber is donating $500,000 to the Hawai’i Community Foundation’s Maui Strong Fund. And starting today, we will launch an in-app donation button to allow Uber and Uber Eats customers in the US to make donations to the non-profit. To maximize your generosity, Uber will match the first $500,000 raised – committing up to $1 million to the Hawai’i Community Foundation

The Continental Divide is one of the most racist fricks in the world.

They should call it the Apartheid Divide.

Oprah has been there, arranged with Hanes for new clothes for people
Bezos announced a gift of money (big money)
Unsure about the other two.

Sure. Except for all the communists that they have on camera lighting these fires across the globe. Watch western North Carolina in a couple of months when the Ashvile trash get it on.

Using police to block traffic from leaving the burning area is not.
