Tons of people support blm. Not everyone supports ramapnt violence. The two are only loosely and unofficially intertwined.

I think Trump missed a golden opportunity to destabilize the left, by coming out so hard against BLM.
I think the better play would have been to distance from the marxist rhetoric, but embrace the stuff about bad cops, relating to how he had been treated by crooked law enforcement since his election.
