I'm looking for a comprehensive analysis but under this plan only the 20-30s major urban areas will be paying lower premiums if I'm reading this all right. The over 50s in rural areas are fricked.
On the Twitters tonight people saying Trump is happy to watch this die and do nothing to help with the double digit premium rises in ACA plans, then blame the dems.
If this bill is to be implemented in 2018, it really needs to pass by recess on 4/18. I can't see it, it needs major rework. I'm wondering who approved this, did someone ambush Ryan into releasing this dogshit?

bad mojo afoot.
if this bill is anything like the one being floated, we will be at war by your 4/18 date so the public can focus on the tracer fire on CNN. If there is no distraction, Trump and Ryan and McConnell are toast. The over 50s in rural areas are fracked.
They have been voting R.

What happened to buying insurance across state lines? How do plans get cheaper if you are keeping can't get turned down for pre-existing conditions but not forcing healthy young people to buy insurance? I have heard of nothing that will drive down cost at the hospital or pharmacy level. The roll back of Medicaid expansion is probably a political mistake for the GOP. I don't know how this plan makes Republicans look good in 2018
Am I missing something?

Nope, this is an incredibly stupid bill from a political perspective. It harms key Republican constituents, pisses off the base that has been fed 6 years of rhetoric about how awful government influence in healthcare is, it does nothing for moderates or independents that just want lower premiums and smaller deductibles and don't care how it is delivered. In trying to piss off the least amount of people, they pissed off everyone: insurers, hospitals, AARP, conservatives, moderates, independents and liberals.

What section of the bill is this in? Care to post that part of the bill, verbatim?
This is where that story comes from

Through 2 committees. It's fricked up that they're trying to hurry it through before the cost estimates are released because they know large sections of the GOP coalition will vote it down after they see how it explodes the deficit.

You have 3 options:
1) Complete privatization of healthcare (not happening, period).
2) Some sort of compromise (mandate or no mandate-this is where we are).
3) Single payer.
It's literally this simple. You have full control of Congress for only two years. Then it's possibly status quo. If they can get this passed now then they can tinker with it later.
This all or nothing attitude is detrimental.

Did I really hear CuckRyan say this? Basically this is as good as its gonna get, bend over and take it.

He's probably right. There has to be some sort of compromise, or else things will just stay the way they are.

I pay insurance year round and if I need anything I always have to come out of pocket. Wisdom teeth extraction was the last thing. My wife's glasses were another.
I haven't been to the doctor otherwise since my kids were born. I hate that I have to have a serious injury or cancer for me to get what I've put into my insurance.

House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady (R-Texas) said Monday on Fox News that he's confident the legislation will pass with solid Republican support despite recent party infighting over the details.
"We've been listening very carefully to our Republican members for months now to make sure we get it right," he said. "I am confident we are going to pass this."

That is not in the bill (despite Trump mentioning that as a solution several times while campaigning.
Well, assuming the plan were to be carried out as planned, that is said to fall in the subsequent stages of implementation.

The fact that no major think tank or interest group on either side of the ideological spectrum with the sole exception of the Chamber of Commerce supports this isn't a concern to you?
