What's the conservative position for these? I usually just vote"no" if I'm unsure.

I would say that the St George amendment should be yes and the “stop the inventory tax” amendment should be yes.

They want to raise taxes in St. Tammany for law enforcement/ Judicial. St. Tammany is the highest taxed parish in the State. Does the STSO need another brand new sub station? Maybe they need brand new SUV's? Don't get me wrong. I think the Sheriffs dept. does a good job. My fear is that if the tax gets voted down. The sheriffs deputies will start pulling over more motorists for bs infractions to make up the difference. Idc what anyone says but quotas are definitely a real thing. You always see more cops giving out tickets at the beginning and ending of every month.

Vote yes on SG. Let us have a good public school system.

Fear is a four letter word. Why should we fear our government? The sheriff should fear the voters.

I was told by mutilple teachers to vote no on the school amendment. That the State isn't actually giving teachers a raise. They would be liquidating Trust funds meant for Education that were set up years ago by a lawsuit with Big tobacco. It would be like your boss telling that they are giving you a raise but they are taking it out of you 401k. Oh and btw you no longer have a 401k to invest in any longer because your boss used it to "give you a raise."

There’s more than one amendment for schools other than St George?

ETA: sure is

Except those funds earn 3% (in a good year) and the debt that is being eliminated is at 7%.

I hope your friends aren't math teachers.

This organization tells the leftys how to vote on them Power Coalition for Equity and Justice

They recommended a No vote on first 4 but don't make a recommendation on 5
So... Opposite of that is
1. Yes (Civil Service, Legislature vs. Commission)
2. Yes (St. George School Dist)
3. Yes (Teacher Raise/Retirement debt)
4. Yes (Business Inventory Tax Exemption)
5. No (Raise Judge Retirement age from 70 to 75)

Then you teacher friends must be idiots. It was a no vote for tha amendment last year because of all the BS attached to the teacher raise. This time it’s definitely a yes vote for a teacher raise and it will also allow the TSLR to get some debt off the books

Anyone that votes to give the Johnson brothers another term at the 19th should lose their right to vote forever.

With the first, third, and forth No vote, you realize you are voting the same way the Power Coalition for Equity and Justice is recommending?

But then again, the conservative LACAG overlaps recommendations on those three also, but for different reasons. They only recommended a yes on Amendment 2.

Who is LACAG? (Serious question, not trying to stir anything up - and I agree with their analysis).
