If you care to expound on this scurrilous claim (Old Testament I presume?), I'll gladly clarify and correct the lies.

You're honestly unaware of the instances God has killed children?

Noah's flood?
10th plague of Egypt?
The 3 or 4 different instances he commanded the Hebrews to commit genocide?
What do you think happened to Job's children?
Do you think there were any children in the cities Sodom or Gomorrah?

Where? In what case(s)?

I fear that it is you who are in denial. The issue of Marcionism as it relates to Christianity was settled 1,880 years ago by the early church. Marcion lost and few remain who hold to his heretical beliefs.

It’s not a twist towards blasphemy at all. Death is consistently viewed in the Bible as a separation. Physical death is a separation from our physical body and spiritual death is the separation of our spirit from God.

I don’t think you understand that word “consistently”. There was no such thing as “spiritual death” apart from physical death. When one gave up their spirit, they were physically dead. From dust Adam was made and to dust he shall return. There was no afterlife. Death was death. You may not like that very much and it isn’t consistent with the New Testament. Sorry but like in Matthew when Jesus dies his spirit (breath) leaves his body. He quits breathing.

The spirit is always connected with the physical body and that is consistent pretty much throughout the Bible. I hope you don’t think your spirit is going to go to heaven when you die. When you die you return to dust and when Jesus comes to judge the living the dead will be resurrected and transformed into glorious incorruptible bodies and live on earth according to most of the NT scripture unless you subscribe to Paul’s version where you get a new body and meet Jesus in the air and go up to heaven.

Heaven is called paradise by Christians. The world is full of sin and suffering. So you’re saying the being that ended physical suffering to welcome a child to paradise is somehow cruel and awful?

You’re operating on the assumption that you possess all the knowledge, wisdom and understanding God has, so you’re able to accurately judge His actions. You’re a flawed and arrogant man.

This opens up a bigger problem. Some souls get a free pass to paradise while everyone else has to believe the correct thing?

So much for God being just.

Ah, so don't think for yourself. Just trust God's own judgement of himself?

God is King of Kings, Lord of Lord, Judge of Judges. ONLY God dispenses PERFECT JUDGEMENT.

He says in the Bible he "knew" us before we were ALL born. He created us.

Everything is according to HIS purpose, HIS reason, HIS Plan -- not ours. We may not like it but we must trust Him. And no, NO one know anyone that other than that is IS GOOD. (see the chapter on Job).

As to "killing children," yes He has. Are you aware of the reasons?

quote:

1) Noah's Flood:

Gen 6 and Book of Enoch explain the "wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually."

Fallen Angels mated with human women to produce hybrid Giants/Monsters, i.e. genetic beings NOT created by God -- ergo they had to be purged from the Gene Pool. Noah and his 3 sons were literally THE last pure-blood left. They had 3 wives -- ONE of which coincidentally had some of the tainted blood in her DNA.

Bottom Line here: The Seed of God / Adam had to be preserved instead of the Fallen Angel / Nephilim-Human hybrid monster seed replacing it.

quote:

2) 10th plague of Egypt?

For 400 years Israel was enslaved. Noah representing God Almighty demanded Pharoah free them. After Pharoah was given several chances to do so -- while telling Noah and God to frick-off, God began threatening, then executing plagues. Pharoah was givena final chance to change his mind but refused. THAT resulted in the Plagues that killed Egyptian children. ON PHAROAH.

quote:

3) What do you think happened to Job's children?

Yes, they were taken by God for HIS purposes. (The Book of Job is a cautionary lesson in trust and obedience for the ages.)

quote:

4) Do you think there were any children in the cities Sodom or Gomorrah?

Yup.

According to (Jude 5, 7 NRSV), these were people who were exceedingly evil and immoral -- even so far as a band of them (homosexuals) followed two Angels / messengers of God into Lot's home, demanding access to gang-rape them. (fwiw, God blinded Lot, his family and the two Angels.)

Now I desire to remind you, though you are fully informed, that the Lord, who once for all saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe . . . . Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities . . . indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural lust, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire.

Tragedies and deaths don't make things any less hurtful or "right" or "good" in my eyes or in Job's; it's just that sometimes we can't understand God's mind and purpose -- but must trust and accept it. That again was the lesson of The Book of Job.

PERSPECTIVE: We ALL die. We are on this Earth for 80+ years -- a wisp of smoke compared to FOREVER).

God assures us of His Kingdom:

‘He will wipe away every tear from their eyes,’ and there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the former things have passed away.”

And of Eternal Reward:

"Rather, as it is written: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no heart has imagined, what God has prepared for those who love Him.”

Bottom line: God is God. He is Righteous God. A supremely just God. He is a Good God.

A Good and Just God protects His Own.

WRONG.

Are you familiar with the Biblical account of Lazarus and the Rich Man? And their respective destination upon death? (This is NOT an "allegory".)

quote:

I hope you don’t think your spirit is going to go to heaven when you die.

I think your constant misunderstanding is about TIMELINE and CONTEXT.

You also aren't quite understand the meaning of God's Word, actions and Gospel plan, the dynamics of the Afterlife, nor the Bible's subtleties. Yes, You're reading words and sentences but it does you no good.

As I've stated earlier up-thread, there's a reason for this inability to understand:

The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit

1 Corinthians 2:14

I'll address your other post tomorrow. Thanks for your patience.

but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
Genesis 3:3 KJV

The Bible never says when Adam and Eve will die just that they will and they do. If you're going to attack the Bible you better start reading it.

EVERYONE is a sinner (except children -- they are innocent according to Scripture.)

SOME of those sinners DO "get a free pass." That's called "Grace".

God offers this very same Grace to ALL -- all one has to do is understand the Gospel, be sincerely repentant and humble ourselves in the knowledge that we are sinners, and try to live as righteously as we can -- with His help.

If you rejected God's FREE offer of Grace even after hearing the Gospel, it is by your own free will you've rejected it and Him and Life After Death in His Kingdom.

(some people are bitter and blame God for tragedies and terrible events. It's called a hardened heart. It is bondage. ONLY God can melt that away and free it.)

Well, God is only so patient with those who insist on mocking his good nature, Authority and Divinity.

Pharoah wrote his own story-demise.

What if I told you there were ways for an all powerful and all knowing deity to solve problems besides killing children?
