I guess having a black president wasn’t such a big deal after all

It's actually rigged for Asians if we want to apply the same metrics they use to prove white privilege.

But I don't want to muddy up their outrage narrative.

Only if you're into collectivism and the entire tribal thing.

A successful person strikes out In baseball and he says I have to train and work harder. A failing person says that the umps hate him. It’s internal locus of control versus external locus of control. Failing people blame everyone BUT themselves. Successful people get to work.

Black Americans have adopted the view that life happens to them and they aren’t driving the bus. Meanwhile black African immigrants and immigrants from everywhere prove them wrong every day. That’s what happens when your racial ethic becomes victimhood.

What about all the Vietnamese who immigrated to the US in the 60’s and 70’s and came here with nothing? They didn’t have a head start, but they had 2 parent households that put a big emphasis on hard work and their kids’ education.

Nothing is rigged now though and it hasn't been for a long time. If anything, being a member of a minority group is an advantage in many cases. It's why Elizabeth Warren claimed to be an Indian.

Do you think it being rigged in the past has no lasting effects on today's people? Honest question.

Because I could see how some of it would. Especially for something like redlining or the War on drugs (which was not that long ago and one could argue is still alive)

Don't people say humans came out of Africa? Based on that I would argue that blacks have had a head start.

quote:

Our species is an African one: Africa is where we first evolved, and where we have spent the majority of our time on Earth. The earliest fossils of recognizably modern Homo sapiens appear in the fossil record at Omo Kibish in Ethiopia, around 200,000 years ago. Although earlier fossils may be found over the coming years, this is our best understanding of when and approximately where we originated.

The lasting effect you're referring to has nothing to do with being rigged in the past and everything to do with a certain set of policies put in place in the late 1960s by a certain President.

Somehow this point is frequently overlooked. There's a TON of poor white people. It's a socioeconomic class this, not a race thing. shite culture perpetuates shite culture.

The two communities that have been "helped" the most by the government (system) over the last four decades are the poorest, Native Americans and blacks.

Is this just a coincidence?

Want proof that "Black Privilege" is a real thing:

Just look at the number of Black people saying racist things on Social Media and NOT being doxxed, banned or having their lives ruined.

I get sick of hearing these fricking cry babies! White, black, pink, purple, red, whatever color your skin..... stand up as a people, and change it.
Believe me, I am not an expert on matter.. but when I hear Martin Luther Kings speeches, he never blames others for problems. He encourages his followers to take responsibility and change things.
The only things stacked against blacks is what they allow to be. Quit looking at the problem and crying about it. Behave responsibly, stop blaming others, fix problems with black families, list is long.
Become the solution, not the problem. Blaming others for ones situations NEVER SUCCEEDS. IT ONLY PERPETUATES YOUR PROBLEMS.

It is as plain as can be.
I would have used an old cliché, but it would be offensively triggering to those without noses.

It’s just a theory. And it’s wrong.

Comparison studies have been conducted between African American groups who were descendants of slaves in America, and second generation black American populations who emigrated to the US from the Caribbean Islands.

These 2nd generation black populations were generally viewed by teachers, police, and the everyday casual observer as indistinguishable from African American populations, and yet, they outperformed the mean of both black and white students in public schools and have better measurable outcomes on things like home ownership, employment, two-parent homes etc.

Where is the systemic racism? Why isn’t it holding them back?

I agree. Do you know how out of touch it is to suggest all white people are middle class suburban two parent households?

This is true.

I'd actually even argue that most people that would be called "racist" are actually just "classist" and hate trashy poor people (trailer parks and ghettos) and are okay with middle and upper class white and black folks.

White male born and raised by single parent or crappy family situation going to crappy inner city school has it tough. There are no minority scholarships awaiting him. It requires a higher score getting in to top tier universities. It requires higher scores to get into med school. It is easier to be fired from your job for underperforming as a white male.

White privilege only applies to being luckily born into a stable home with disposable income to let you see the world and get a good education. Does racial profiling exist. Yes. Do minorities still face racism yes. That racism is only by a small amount.

The oppression thing is somewhat of a farce. The easiest way for anyone to get a leg up on society is to join the military if you are healthy.
