I wonder why a guy who has been around so many firearms in his career is so ignorant how they work.
His explanation of the incident was pathetic.

Baldwin was in charge of the set and certainly knew live rounds were on set. So he has no way to plead innocence in managing the risks of the set.

Is negligent homicide the same as involuntary manslaughter? I looked up sentencing guidelines and didn’t see anything for specifically “involuntary manslaughter”… just manslaughter, but they had guidelines for negligent homicide.

However, he does have some plausible denyability in this particular case.
Exceptions to this are self-defense, which clearly was not the case here.

There is absolutely no question that firearms on that set were handled in a ridiculously-lackadaisical manner. Civil liability is almost a given.
Whether we are talking about Baldwin or anyone else, however, I just have trouble seeing criminal-level culpability here.

Sad case, but I hope Baldwin is found guilty or pleads to a felony so he loses his right to vote.

How would he necessarily know that?

What kinda jail time will he get for negligence and taking a life? 1 year? 5 years?
Probably community service with public service bullitens to remind people not to point loaded weapons at people and pull the trigger.
120 hrs in Beverly Hills, Sundance or the Hamptons will probably cover it.

First rule of gun safety.
Baldwin has been around firearms on the set his entire adult life, and didn't know this.
I don't know how a human can be that ignorant.

That's crazy. Just because he failed to check if he had a loaded gun, pointed a loaded gun at someone, and shot them to death? He's a celebrity, his politics are correct, doesn't that imply some kind of Constitutional immunity? I mean, he's important, I'd think his SNL appearances alone would immunize him from something as petty as killing some random woman. I mean this guy gave us "Swetty balls" and that incredible dialogue in Glengarry. Have some respect.

There are exceptions to this very good rule. I wouldn't think that a movie set would warrant them, though.

How many hundreds of thousands of movies and TV shows do you think they have made where people are pointing guns at one another?

No he doesn't; he pointed a gun at someone and pulled the trigger. Negligent homicide is what I call it.

Well, that’s another breach of protocol. Nobody but the weapons master or the actor should ever be touching a gun on a set.
Ol boy is def getting the blame.
I admittedly don't know about the difference between live ammo and dummy ammo. Do they look the same? Is there some sort of different color on the casings to differentiate between the two?

In both places, ex-cons still get to vote … even if still on probation. California. NY

Rope, chair or injection. He can choose.

Those shouldn't technically qualify as a "gun". They should be props or otherwise rendered inoperable. Take out the firing pin, plug the barrel, whatever.
In military training you aim guns at people all the time, but there are a LOT of measures put into place to negate the risk.

It doesnt
Baldwin wasn't even shooting (pardon) a scene.

Heard that Baldwin got an offer to play fauci in an upcoming biopic since he has first hand real life experience with administering fatal shots
