This is the stupidest dissertation on lethal procedures. Nitrogen Hypoxia is 100% effective and is quick.
A coworker of mine many yrs ago accidentally entered a tank that was being purged with N2. He went down within 20 sec. He reported that he went into a delirious “high” and had no thought to rescue himself. Fortunately he was right next to the manway and someone pulled him out by the neck.
The part about asphyxiating the guards or the witnesses is stupid because they used to use cyanide in the gas chambers…

Hanging isn’t cruel or unusual. States were executing people by hanging them until the electric chair phased out hangings.
The last person to be executed by hanging in the US was hanged in 1996.

What I'm getting from this thread is the OP is choking their self from clutching their pearls so tight over a person who beat and stabbed an innocent woman to death yet shows no remorse or concern for the victim at all.
