So what did all these people do before 2012?
Can't they go do that again?
They were literally dying. People who had pre existing conditions before Obamacare literally died because insurance companies charged drastically high premiums.

Nah, sometimes they just denied you outright... or when you made claims found ways to rescind your policy because you missed putting a medicine you took ten years ago on page 35 of a 65 page form you had to fill out.

By that logic, why would you accept anything but anarchy?
Who need police, a military, a court system, or any safety nets? If you can't keep yourself or your family alive and safe by your own effort?

Serious question: What are you doing (besides contacting your congressman/senator) to help besides posting on an anonymous message board?

In the case of me and everybody I've ever talked to about this, it has to do with being empathetic to people who aren't in the same fortunate situation that we (or I) are.

Why do you never mention the lives saved because someone had insurance and their claims crushed the companies loss ratio?
You have this fear mongering thing going on now.
Wait. That is exactly why.

You might need to re-phrase this or elaborate further.
Because it reads very oddly.

Good
We have too many people.
We kill innocent babies who have done no wrong. so why should we keep or care about defective people who have costly medical problems?
Let them die. They cost society too much and pass on poor genes when they reproduce.

How about Type 1? That's what my son has and he did nothing to get it nor could it have been prevented. He essentially has no pancreatic function.
That said, the bill is still a step in the right direction by allowing more flexibility with how states set up HC plans and allowing more market based solutions. The problem I have is his Humalog insulin used to be $17/bottle when it came out 22 years ago and is now $250. I can accept paying more for HC because of my son but I don't appreciate getting bent over.
Of course neither this bill nor OCare fix the issues because both are still too focused on coverage rather than costs. Focus on reducing costs through competition and creativity and it makes the coverage issue far less. The reason coverage is a problem is the cost of the insurance and HC is inflated due to regulation.
It's ridiculous. Not just the cost, but the indifference from both sides of the aisle. (If Type I were an STD the Democrats would require insurance to give you first dollar coverage, but since it's just an unlucky roll of the dice you're on your own.)

Buying stock in Aetna and Eli Lilly, the only real winners in Obamacare.

Where were all the experts that said ObamaCare would work? That it would keep down cost? Provide everyone with everything of their dreams?
Please, someone post those . . .

People kill themselves every day with the lifestyle choices they make. People who have money shouldn't be paying to enable others' poor health choices
