Man, this board now reads just like Democrat Underground did after the 2004 Election.

I am happy that Carter got to live to see a Biden presidency. He will rest peacefully one day knowing he was the second most ineffective modern president.

I'm still not convinced Lyndon Johnson wasn't the worst, both from policy (ramping up Vietnam without truly giving full support to the soldiers and generals on the ground; "Great" Society) and as a complete POS of a person.

But yeah, him, Carter and Biden are definitely the clear Top 3. I'd gladly take Bill Clinton and even Barack Obama over those three.

No. Totally different circumstances now. When Carter was in office about half the Dems in Congress were centrists. Today there might be 2.
When Carter was in office less than 1% of college students thought communism could work.
Before Carter when I was in HS there were at least 100 kids in New Iberia who drove to school every day with a gun in their vehicle. It was legal and there was not a single shooting incident.
America is much more left wing today.

No, in the 1980s, America was still like 80% white.

BIPOC barely vote conservative, ever.

And most Americans HATED communism, except for "urbanites" in Los Angeles and NYC.

The USA boycotted the 1980 Olympics because they were held in Moscow. Can you imagine the USA doing anything remotely similar today?

We are a dying nation.

Really just Reagan.

Bush was a globalist and a RINO.

Ditto his boy after the Clinton regime.

Barack Obama was the major driver for why we are where are today. I believe his presidency is when the radical left went into high gear in subverting the federal government. Much worse than Carter, Johnson or even Biden. Biden is just a place holder.

I thought Trump was going to preside over a new period like the 80s under Reagan.

Boy was I wrong. He just angered the oligarchs who truly own us. Have you ever considered that Biden’s failures are engineered so that we can be sold a solution that leads us further down the path to Marxism?

Iran prisoners released
Spearheaded the tearing down of the Berlin Wall.
Brought us from negative GDP growth in 1980 to the largest growth we've ever had since 1951.
Brought us from 7.2% unemployment in 1980 to 5.3% by the end of 1988 (lowest since 1973).
Brought inflation down from 13.3% in 1979 (the highest we had seen since 1946, and still the highest to date since then) to 4.4% in 1988.

And you know what, he brought a ton of confidence to the country as a whole. The 80s was an extremely HIGH point overall in America and in people achieving the "American dream", a confidence Jimmy Carter certainly could never bring about with his negative depressed air about him.

Carter couldn’t rig elections like they can now.

What we are seeing is the Dems implement their plan with absolutely zero fear of ever losing another election

Can't you see from all of the negative posters that the American experiment is over, the country is doomed, and we all are bound for reeducation camps? /s

Inflation, oil prices, the Afghanistan withdrawal, nationwide supply chain issues, people not seeking out jobs.

Biden is on track to be the next Carter. I can see this as a layup for the 2024 elections.

Very astute observation!...but I don't want to jinx it!

so sell weapons to terroist to release prisonors and i bet you think the Iran deal was a shame right? He wasn't avaiable mentally for his second term and that has been written about and proven to be correct, bet you think Biden can't form sentences. Reagan laid the ground work for Trump, hug the american flag, talk tough, never back down, and they want pay attention to all the bullshite your doing.

The man and his vice president let the cocaine(crack) epidemic happen and protected the CIA while they reported it.

So the positives of the Reagan Presidency outweigh the negatives by a 20 to 1 factor. RaginCajun just kicked your butt. Bad job by you IMO. I think it is time for you to quit.
