Make it so in every state that CARES about the integrity of elections!

quote:

Texas instituted a law that all absentee ballots must include an identification number with the filing. As a result over a quarter of ballots to date have been returned in a primary there.

Across the state, election officials have reported issues with the new law related to absentee ballots due to a new provision requiring voters to supply either their Texas ID number or the last four digits of their Social Security number

And the DEMS respond

quote:

“Voter suppression is alive and well in Texas,” said Wesley Story, spokesman for Progress Texas in a news release. “Texans warned Republican lawmakers about the impact their anti-voter law would have but they passed it anyway, and now we’re seeing the consequences in real time.”

That's right. We are seeing it in real time WORK to secure elections!

How hard is it to put the last 4 of your social on a ballot?

You're telling me that someone can no longer fill out infinite ballots for the candidate of their preference to be dropped off and never questioned?

Talk about theft of democracy.

So far, Scarpello’s office has returned 166 ballots to absentee voters to allow voters to “cure” any issues with their ballots. The reason those ballots were rejected was not specified, and The Dallas Morning News is seeking clarification.

I find it hilarious that it’s voter suppression to send the ballot back to the voter* and force them to correct it so their vote can count, as opposed to having random state workers and democrat operatives “correct” them making illegal votes count when they shouldn’t.

In all seriousness- seems like an actual fair system if we’re going to have to have mail in ballots.

If I had my druthers early voting would be limited to in person, and no excuse absentee ballots would be banned. But this seems like the next best thing.

I'm already laughing that some pissy democrat already made it into this thread and downvoted everyone. He got us this time.

Exactly, Fat. Folks need to get out of the mindset that it’s completely useless to vote therefore I won’t do it”. The more enthusiastic the vote from the right, the more good or great things will happen.

I find that disturbing.

IF a person want the 'convenience' of casting a mail in vote then they should be careful to accurately identify themselves. It is not that hard. A moron can do it.

Letting them "cure" the ballot is just another bite at the apple to cheat.

You take the effort to go in person to vote you get ONE chance to get it right - otherwise it is discarded.

The rules should be even tighter for those choosing to vote in their spare time. If it is not perfect trash it.

If someone cannot do this, they don’t need to be voting. Everyone has a SS#.

I agree with bandit, one bite and toss it if not correct, same as in person.

How are they getting mail ins. In some states you have to fill out an app, send in with photo id and two bills to show you live where you say you do.....then you get the ballot. A pain compared to in person voting, and its designed that way on purpose.

This nonsense of mailing to anyone registered with the DMV is ridiculous. Particularly where you can get a license when illegal, and if you dont check the box im illegal you get a ballot in the mail.....more likely they hold it to ballot harvest. With every liberal voting law passed over the past two decades in Cali, the state has turned bluer, coincidence, I dont think so.

And by the way, people arent too stupid to fill in a number, there is a prison sentence associated with voter fraud, and probably compounded using the federal postal service to commit it.

Will I be allowed to vote in November in Texas if I move there in April? Also do you register when getting a DL?
