According Dan Bongino, it's not certain McConnell has the votes.

However, President Trump is pushing McConnell to have the vote Friday regardless to put the senators on the record before mid-terms. His inside White House sources are telling him President Trump and McConnell had a very heated conversation in the White House over this issue of whether or not to bring the confirmation of BK to to floor for a vote.

McConnell has acquiesced to President Trump and stated yesterday and this morning that "we will have a vote this week".

This has red state Democrats senators, Murkowski and Collins in a panic.

Apparently President Trump does not care. If Kavanaugh is voted down President Trump will renominate him after the mid-terms. He is in this fight to win it.

The goal here is to get the Senators ON THE RECORD prior to the mid-terms.

Now that the Democrats are beginning to see the resolve of President Trump, shifting polls and the closing enthusiasm gap many senators a panicking.

frick the fence sitters.

Get on the train or get no re-election money. And take a back seat on all your committees. And you may get moved into a shitty office, too.

Wait, Mitch didn't want to get democrats on record voting against Kav if he didn't get Murk and/or Collins?

What the frick?

That's political malpractice.

Sent letters to both of my senators about this situation. One is a Republican and one is a Democrat. neither are in question at this point.

The Democrat got a letter asking them to reconsider their vote, and if not, to at least condemn the way this farce of a confirmation has been handled by his colleagues.

I'm with BHP on this one. McCaskill and Heitkamp will lose their elections if they go on the record as "no" votes.

ETA: Hell Heitkamp may well lose anyway.

McCaskill will vote no even she’s guaranteed a loss from it.

She’s a true believer.

If he doesn’t have the votes after this FBI scope then Murkowski, Collin, Flake never intended on voting Yes to begin with.

Flakes career is done in the senate
Collins and murkowski might as well switch parties come next week.

Trump should carry around a good guys/bad guys chart.

everyone on the train is on the good guys list. everyone else on the naughty list. it should be a living document that he constantly shows the country and tweets daily.

these people need to be held accountable. it would go a long way to affecting their re-election potential and THAT would finally impact the fence sitters in a real way.

I can see why Turtle would be a bit rustled. Majority leader never wants to bring a vote to the floor if he isnt sure he has the votes. Would be embarassing for Mitch personally Im sure. Trump seems to doubt that Kav will be confirned and may be playing the long game?

That's what Bongino was indirectly implying until President Trump convinced McConnell otherwise.
