ABC News with a gotcha: Recording appears to capture Trump talking about firing ambassador

And? Even if true, and that's a stretch when talking about ABC News, the POTUS can fire any ambassador for any reason.

A recording reviewed by ABC News appears to capture President Donald Trump telling associates he wanted the then-U.S. ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch fired while speaking at a small gathering that included Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman -- two former business associates of Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani who have since been indicted in New York.
The recording appears to contradict statements by President Trump and support the narrative that has been offered by Parnas during broadcast interviews in recent days. Sources familiar with the recording said the recording was made during an intimate April 30, 2018, dinner at the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C.

But he did fire her so it's not really a gotcha since it did it

Poor, poor Marie.
So. fricking. What.Good riddance. Is this an impeachment or a wrongful termination case? Serves at the pleasure of POTUS.

But any president except Trump can hire and fire whomever they want in the executive branch.

I don’t care if he wanted to fire her because she looks like Dustin Hoffman in drag (she does). Ambassadors serve at the pleasure of the President. They just can’t seem to process that.

ABC is harping on Trump use of the phrase "take her out!" Got it? There's the gotcha! Trump had put a hit out on Poor, poor Marie.
quote:
"Get rid of her!" is what the voice that appears to be President Trump’s is heard saying. "Get her out tomorrow. I don't care. Get her out tomorrow. Take her out. Okay? Do it."

But he didn't so did Trump chicken out or obviously did he mean he needed to fire her?

This is a good start.
He could fire half of government workers and no one would notice a change in their life.

So, “take her out” means fire her, not “kill her” or “take her for a steak dinner and never call again” or “send her to Antarctica”?
