Yes, but what you're talking about here is a team full of 5 superior athletes running full court against lesser athletes. I'm talking individual skill sets. A slower and less athletic person can indeed be a better ball player individually.

I would say though that it is extremely rare. Men seem to be naturally better at almost all sports for whatever reason. Probably in our blood due to thousands of years of being hunters.

At LSU in the late 90s/early 00s, I played against the top women’s basketball players at the rec center and i was as good as they were.
Similar experience, we had a group of guys who played pickup at Alabama in the mid 00s and would work the women's team when they asked to run. Only a couple of us played high school ball (I was in the band ), and these were D1 athletes (granted, they were bottom dwellers in the SEC at the time).

Maybe she has been watching the two LSU teams.

I was a UT Student during the Lady Vols 3 peat run with 2 HoF players and a HoF legend coach. They routinely got beat by the college guy practice squad that they scrimmaged against. They had joint exhibitions with the men's team, so we got to watch this at Thompson Boiling.

I must applaud the ability to self-reflect. Does not hurt that the LSU baseball season is less than a month away.

You could have put a decent intramural squad out there with no coach and ran them against their team WITH their coach and they still would have been beaten. Again, in that situation you're talking about 5 superior athletes playing 94' against 5 inferior athletes. It isn't the same as 1v1 shite and individual skill sets.

The National Champion LSU women's team practiced against a men's intramural team and they played even.

Remember when a 15U boys club soccer team beat the women’s Olympic team with that Rapione(?) skank on it?

One of the greatest ball players to ever live was a slower, unathletic white dude.

I went to see Larry Bird play in college against Centenary. He was tall (6-8), extremely fast up and down the court and so athletic that his teammates were surprised when his pass came to them between two defenders.

Dunking when you're this tall is not impressive. You've only got to get about 12 inches off the floor to do it. Look, Larry Bird was one of the greatest players to ever live, but he was not a physical phenom. That's the entire point. Hell, that's what Patrick Ewing was saying in the very first video. He didn't say the people were wrong saying he wasn't athletic. He was saying, "be that as it may, the dude will still crush you on the court."

Larry Bird had the ball skills of a point guard. A 6-8 point guard is impressive.
