That is absolutely incredible.

Congrats to Nigel Farage and his Brexit Party. That takes true expertise and diligence.

They have 29 EU seats

Second is Germany’s CDU party with 28

Imagine someone forms a political party 6 weeks before a midterm election in America and ends up winning 100+ house seats and a 15+ senate seats

That is the equivalent here

So how does this benefit them exactly? So stops the EUs threats to cut off ties with the UK after brexit?

And how did they win the seats?

Ohhhh and where are the "brexit aint happening, so you are a fool if you think so" crowd now? Yall are out there...come defend your side.

So, you are saying that European voters are smarter and less tribal than American voters.

Entirely possible.

I think it arises from the fact that European politics are ALREADY far less binary than American politics, because they (mostly) have Parliamentary systems with MANY political parties, rather than our arrangement (which inevitably leads to a two-party system).

This is what RINOs fear from Trump. He could easily rip away half of the Republican vote and maybe 50% of the Independent vote.

I wish he’d do it. Make a third party.

Tommy Robinson scored 38,000 votes and came 8th in the North West Region of voting (my region)

Would you all please start to listen when people say he will never gain a seat or any sort of power.

There is a clear difference between Farage and TR, and no matter what he does to try and change his image it will not work.

Trump is one of a select few Presidents that could actually create a competitive GOP party. Let's be honest, would we be in our current situation with anyone other than Trump.

This will be apparent in 2024 when the GOP wont have anyone to run who isnt an establishment type. A Trump

Trump doesn't need to create a third party although I agree he easily could. instead he is simply taking back the republican party.

Impossible feat in the USSA. The two parties have created many laws to prevent this tyoe of thing from hapoeninh. Ballot access for new parties is almost impossible in such a short amount of time.

I think the success of the new party in the UK must be an effect of anger from a voting public that sees their government trying to go against what was voted for.

Even some people who didn’t vote for Brexit must be angry watching what’s happening.

Nigel Farage
Speaking of which.... will he be the next PM? Does he even want it?? God knows he's got the support.

I've always looked upon him as a hired gun on a crusade; a pragmatic free-lancer. I think he's too smart to get caught up in the daily rigors of the office.

That said, I so enjoyed "Question Time" when John Major was PM. High drama played out on a public stage (C-SPAN). The epitome of British gamesmanship and debate between the parties, but never at the expense of mutual respect. Farage would bring it to a new level.
