"The Nazis murdering innocent people in The Holocaust was terrible. Six millions Jews perished. Unbelievable horror! But looking back we forget a good point. It got rid of a lot of Gypsies."
This was part of a standup by Jimmy Carr in England. The 100 or so in the audience laughed.
Some people who watched the video called the cops and demanded that they arrest Carr. And the audience who laughed are on video so they can be identified and they must also be arrested and jailed.
The only thing that stopped the British police was the video was not on public TV. It was one of those shows you had to sign up for to watch.
We talk a lot here about how communism always fails economically. But wait till you see what it does to freedom of speech.

Jimmy Carr is extremely talented, and truth be told, this probably isn't among the top 100 "offensive" things he's said while performing.

OFCOM is pure Orwellian. It’s unreal what freedoms have been quashed by the British government, and I doubt their citizens realize it. The whole frog in a pot metaphor.

Exactly, there are a lot of comedians who say offensive stuff they don't mean literally. It's their style and the audience understands it. But in England a lot of the comedians have had their shows cancelled because the sponsor doesn't want to fight the challenges in court.

A lot of people seem to have forgotten what it was like under Biden. Social media was silencing countless people for challenging the government narrative, at the behest of the government. Conservatives were banned for not believing in progressive orthodoxy. People were fired for not being leftist drones.
And many conservatives seem willing to go back to that in the name of a perceived economic benefit highly unlikely to ever come to fruition.
These people are giving up freedom for the gamble of economic security, despite that security coming from the promises of the party who wants to "eat the rich" and tax everyone to pay for the lowest common denominator, including illegals.
If freedom is as valuable as instructed by the founders and as many of us were raised to believe, there is no reason to vote for the party who demands strict adherence to its crazy beliefs above all else over the one that provides only economic progress at a rate slower than desired.
