"stop thinking you still have value". Thats a great description of the issue. You are a high achiever

We're trying to sunset boomer activism, not enable it. If you're bored, get a hobby. If you're lonely, get a pen pal.

"everyone makes their own choices". Thats a good statement for folks climbing Maslow's hierarchy of needs. But there is another thread critical of AOC with universal support that as soon as her tits start to sag she will be sent to the dust bin

I think we’ve already got our hands full taking care of boomers financially with the rules they made. I don’t think we’ve got the space to take care of them emotionally too.

in the room currently. And they have decided that at my age, my staying in the house is the right thing to do

That was a lot of selfish drivel that reeks of some kind of guilt.
Just enjoy your family. It’s their turn. Don’t get in their way.

I'm a boomer and I'm nothing like you. I hate it when my phone rings. I don't want to be invited anywhere. I'm happy that my kids have moved on. I don't want to be involved in any causes.
I'm happy with my wife, my dogs and the old guys I work out with at the gym.

What?
You made an objectively ridiculous post stating that you basically have no internal sense of right or wrong and that your efforts are best spent on those who make you feel heard.
You are a feelings based person... and have abandoned any sense of morality in pursuit of "feeling good" in the moment.
I usually enjoy your posts- but this take is getting all the ridicule it deserves.

If you can’t figure out what to do with yourself in your free time that doesn’t make you bored, it makes you boring
Stop looking to others to give you something to do. Entertain your damn self.
And stay the hell out of other people‘s way while doing it.

that's a jimmy Kimmel comment. Where are the receipts for the claim I am dousing everything in gasoline. Who is your god?

Maybe if many Boomers hadn’t been so selfish and actually cared about what they’re leaving for the next generation instead of pulling the ladder up behind them they would have people who care enough to call them, care enough to value their input or opinions.
The reality is many (not all) boomers think the world revolves around you and you’re owed something. Now that the next generation is taking over and doing just fine building something of their own without you, yall can’t stand it. Instead of being proud of them now yall want to go out and support shite that furthers destroys the country because if you can’t have it nobody can so burn it all down.
I’m sorry you feel lonely and not valued but I’m guessing you failed to make a positive impact on others where they love and respect you. Because if you had, they’d still be calling. You seem to think you’re more important than you are. I know many great men around your age who are valued members of the community who people called daily for advice and guidance. I just attended the funeral of a man I admired who was 83. One of the most powerful and influential men around here. He believed in us and without him I wouldn’t have a catfish farm of my own. My point is, you can’t just ask for people to include you or come to you. You have to earn that level of respect it has nothing to do with your age. Joining liberal causes you don’t even believe in just to be able to influence people shows you are a man of no principles with inflated ego

younger (64) boomer here and I do none of the crap you wrote.
The younger boomers are nothing like the older ones.
My dad born in 1964 is technically a boomer but he is way more like Gen X. Hard working, conservative, quiet, honest. A great father figure that I feel blessed to have each day

Serious question- are toking and typing? Are you having a TIA and are in need of medical assistance?
My "receipts" are your statements made in the OP.
When you sober up, go read your original post in this thread.

Today the phone no longer rings. Invitations no longer exists. My letters to the editor are not posted, next generation family is moving on, trips out of the house are to doctors. Comments to community action meetings are passed over, and there is a scam behind every web page.
The phone never rings? Who do YOU call?
No invitations? Who do YOU invite?
Paper won't print your letters? I wonder why...
Family moving on? Why don't they spend time with you?
Trips to the doctor? Dear me, you aren't alone in that.
Passed over at community meetings? I wonder why?
Scams on websites? Wait, how are conservatives to blame for this?
Sometimes, when you're not invited, that means it's time to BE the party- not be a whiny wallflower.

you are young, check back in 13 years. I was a bit older than you and drove to Alaska twice, venturing above the arctic circle on the Pruhoe bay road. Sold the offshore boat 4 years ago, sold the class a motor home 2 years ago, selling the Harley currently. Back surgeon sez take it easy. Body is weak, mind is active.
