There are soccer players facing the flag like all the fans in the stadium with their hands over their hearts

Since you never played a team sport you would not understand. Stanley cup just finished. Can you show one picture of the entire playoffs where the teams did not stand in unison. Simple answer, no, every single player stood the same way for every game during the anthem for an entire playoff without variation

Again, it is clear you never played a team sport. They did not turn to the flag when everyone, even the fans turned. It is disrespectful and when called out they lied and came up with an excuse. They clearly are not so enamored with the old guy they had to watch.

It’s not a question whether I’m offended because I gave up on woman’s soccer too many years ago. It is the verbal gymnastics of those trying to defend the actions of the players who are openly disrespectful to somehow come up with a story when every sees what pos they are

I love it. For 4 years these women tried to figure out how to drape themselves in a burning flag while kneeling and screaming how unfair the country (read: president) is, but now we have a thread with mental gymnastics being done trying to defend how civil, patriotic, and respectful they are (now).

I’ve been back and forth on this. I don’t think they deserve it, but I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt and concluding there was no actual protest. However, they really need to get in the same page as to what the protocol is for a team when the country they represent has its anthem played.

Meh.They were the only one's not facing the flag . They also were the only members of the team that did not applaud the anthem performance.
