If they had that garbage back in the 1970s Rudy wouldn't have had to go to Holy Cross junior college for 2 years.

Get them the hell out of Notre Dame. It's infuriating these people hide out in a university where they are immune from the normal experiences people have to learn to navigate. And it's a damn Catholic institution. Talk about employing a bunch of mutineers. Just get rid of the lot of them Notre Dame.

Isn't Notre Dame a Catholic school? Doesn't seem like the type of place left wing loons would want to work at.
I never went to Notre Dame but the word amongst Catholic pewsitters is that ND has faculty members who are faithful and devout. And ND has a cohort of Catholics who are of the Sloppy Joe / Nancy Nice variety, meaning a hive of left wing loons.
Not to judge or anything
It's a big university with a diverse faculty. There are ultra-conservative, orthodox types and people who are (literally - not in the pejorative sense of the term) communist.
The law school tends to be moderate to moderate-right. The school had two economics departments for a long time because one of them arose from the Liberation Theology BS from the 1960's and taught hardcore leftist economic theory and the other was more orthodox. You've got theology professors who are Opus Dei, moderately Catholic, Catholic but wildly out of line with mainstream teaching, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu, atheist, and everything else. The engineering school is effectively apolitical. The business school is pretty conservative, even as business schools go. The Kroc Institute tends to draw the ultra-liberal peacenik types. The university has a great books (mostly of the Western canon) major. On and on.
Jenkins made a pretty aggressive and bold move (which many of his own faculty vocally opposed) by committing the university to in-person teaching back during the summer when much of the academic establishment was starting to wet their pants and revert to online only. I was proud as hell of him for that. I am also proud of the school for fostering genuine diversity of thought across an array of disciplines - ND has a lot of conservative thinkers and a lot of liberal thinkers and everything in between and outside. I think we're one of the few top tier universities that is still truly and comprehensively committed to it (others being U of Chicago and, oddly enough, UCLA).

No, it’s absolutely NOT. I say that as a practicing Catholic. It’s Catholic in name only.

Catholic universities sure have bent the knee to the SJWs, I tell you what!

I really don't see the issue. A small percentage of ND professors and other employees are expressing their constitutionally protected opinion. Just as some of her fellow professors also expressed their opinion and gave their support of ACB (as also stated in the article).
Many on this board rightfully objected to conservative speakers not being allowed to speak at various universities (mainly in California). Aren't universities supposed to be places where differing opinions are discussed and debated respectfully?
You don't see an issue with people wanting a result out of their workplace so badly that they threaten their workplace? OK, Cuck...

Sadly, yes we were hanging on but ever since Obama spoke on campus and Buttieg became a professor I will say we're done.

88 is a white supremacist numerical code for "Heil Hitler".
We need a deep dive into these faculty members.

"We ask that you take this unprecedented step for three reasons. First, voting for the next president is already underway. According to the United States Election Project, more than seven million people have already cast their ballots, and millions more are likely to vote before election day. The rushed nature of your nomination process, which you certainly recognize as an exercise in raw power politics, may effectively deprive the American people of a voice in selecting the next Supreme Court justice. You are not, of course, responsible for the anti-democratic machinations driving your nomination."
Some Biden mouthpiece tried to use this exact argument the other day on CNN; even Jake Tapper (or was it Wolf Blitzer?) caller her on her bullshite.
I'm sick of hearing this:
quote:
The letter then points to how "the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s dying wish was that her seat on the court remain open until a new president was installed."
Aunt Ruthie should've quit when Obama was president, and justices don't get to pick their successor.
And who's to blame for this?
quote:
"Finally, your nomination comes at a treacherous moment in the United States. Our politics are consumed by polarization, mistrust, and fevered conspiracy theories," the letter continued. "Our country is shaken by pandemic and economic suffering. There is violence in the streets of American cities. The politics of your nomination, as you surely understand, will further inflame our civic wounds, undermine confidence in the court, and deepen the divide among ordinary citizens, especially if you are seated by a Republican Senate weeks before the election of a Democratic president and Congress."
