I think we need to rethink prosecutorial discretion. The main problem here is the lack of incarceration and punishment, that is on the DA's office. They should be held accountable when things like this happen. You simply should not be able to pick and choose whether to apply the law.
That goes from violent crime to illegal immigration and everything in between.
