Their “resignation” came with a large condition; they wanted to use all their annual leave (PTO) and actually quit in April when it runs out. Bondi said no dice and fired them, which may be a moot point because the government may be forced to pay them their PTO.

i got a nice check from a company a decade or so ago where i had something like 200 hrs of pto banked

She did not want to pay them while on vacation..
So now they are not on vacation.. but they do get to go home .. and start job searching.. while they wait for their entire PTO accrued for vacation check to show up in mail.. may be able to draw unemployment checks also. ..
